Start with analyzing the apartment and future tenant

Before making a plan, just spend some time in the apartment: feel its rhythm and try to imagine who will live here. Polina walked through the neighborhood and found inspiration in its tranquility, greenery, and silence. This gave birth to the image of the future tenant—a person who values comfort and aesthetics.

This allowed her to set the direction of the concept and not wander between styles. Early planning helps make fast and accurate decisions at every stage—from layout to decoration.

Moderate accents

If you're making an apartment for sale, it's important not to overload it with individual details. Bright elements should only be used in decor, textiles, and posters: the buyer should easily imagine themselves here. In Polina’s project, the atmosphere is created by terracotta curtains, voile, cushions, and vases—these are easy to change if needed.

This approach keeps the interior universal and adds coziness without the risk of scaring off buyers.

Online shopping is the best friend

Polina ordered most of her furniture and appliances online—this saves tens of thousands of rubles. But to avoid mistakes, it's important to carefully read reviews, measure everything in advance, and have a buffer for delivery times. It's ideal if there's space to temporarily store orders.

Thanks to this step, all the furniture and appliances in the apartment look cohesive but are actually modules from marketplaces.

Small details make all the difference

An interior looks more expensive if it doesn’t have random details. Beautiful moldings, thoughtfully designed switches, even lighting, and built-in outlets are not as costly as they seem but immediately make the setting feel complete.

Polina advises not to skimp on these items: they influence perception much more than, say, the brand of a sofa.

Do it as if you were going to live there yourself

Even if you know for sure that you won’t stay in the apartment, design it with love. Polina immersed herself in the image of the tenant so much that she didn’t want to leave herself, and everyone who enters the apartment feels it. An interior created with attention and soul always captivates.

These emotions can’t be bought, but they can be conveyed through details, colors, tactile materials, and well-thought-out layout.

Use vertical lines

A small apartment always wants to be visually stretched upward. Here, the wardrobes are made in wall color and reach the ceiling: this visualizes the room and maximizes storage space.

The same applies to lighting and mirrors: placing them vertically can create the feeling of volume even in a small space. Every part of the space—from floor to ceiling—should work toward the result.

Insight can come right under your feet (literally)

Some of the most successful decorations Polina found right in the courtyard. Branches for vases, birds, posters, and laundry with barely visible patterns look like a random collection of items but work equally well for the atmosphere.
