The atmosphere of the early 20th century can be both beautiful and functional

In this Kaliningrad apartment, designer Olga Shtennikova created an interior inspired by the atmosphere of German apartments from the past century. References to Jugendstil are reflected in decorative details and solutions that make the space unique.

The kitchen and living room were joined by adding a wine portal between them, visually highlighting the food preparation area. This allowed for a sense of unity while clearly defining functional zones.

The kitchen cabinet was custom-made, allowing for every detail to be carefully planned and creating a comfortable space even without ceiling cabinets. All household appliances are hidden behind cabinet doors: there is a dishwasher, built-in refrigerator, microwave oven, boiler, and even a washing machine.

Instead of a conventional kitchen backsplash, they chose an unconventional solution – a granite countertop that smoothly transitions into the wall, ending with small-format mosaic tiles.

Storage is organized to maximize free space. Main sections are placed in a cabinet next to the refrigerator, and dishes are stored in slide-out drawers near the window.

This solution not only makes the kitchen visually lighter but also emphasizes the stylish minimalism of the interior.

The overall color palette is muted, but the wine portal between the kitchen and living room adds dynamism and depth, harmonizing with the project's concept.

The kitchen is an example of how to combine the aesthetics of the past with the comfort of the present without overloading the space. Thoughtful planning and well-executed solutions make it comfortable, while vintage elements add individuality.
