In case of using metal structures, this plan is a "technological map for the installation of metal structures," an important standardized document that must contain all necessary data for conducting complex works, including instructions for staff involved in a specific technological process.

The technological map is usually prepared by the technical services of the company performing the work and must be approved by the company's management or higher government authorities (if discussing a TTK for the installation of metal structures, for example, at a chemical plant, for initial construction of residential areas, or TTKs for the installation of buildings of national importance).

This document, as we have already mentioned, includes all possible information about the process, including instructions on dismantling structures and rules for installing new ones.

There are different types of TTKs

• standard ones – have a general purpose, regardless of the object or conditions of its construction;
• typical ones – describe the construction technology of a specific object, local conditions during construction are not taken into account;
• working ones – designed to describe the construction of a specific object under specific conditions.

Standard TTKs can describe work performed on various objects regardless of their purpose or location. For example, a detailed installation guide for gypsum board or just the frame for gypsum board, plastering of rooms, or bricklaying.

Typical TTKs already contain a reference to a specific object, while working TTKs are developed for unique projects or projects of higher complexity.

TTK must include

• the area of application of the TTK;
• indicating the volume of main works;
• description of normative documents that guide technologists in preparing TTKs (GOST, SNiP, VSN);
• description of the sequence of work execution (preparatory, main, and closing);
• detailed drawings for each action and the structures used;
• indicating requirements for quality and acceptance of works;
• specifying necessary material and technical resources;
• and also rules for ensuring labor safety.

In the case of such a multifaceted production and extensive application area, it is appropriate to consider pricing for each specific case of work.

The cost of installing metal structures, which can vary from $500 to several thousand dollars per ton, can also amount to as little as $50 per square meter or up to $400 per ton.

Cost of Installing Metal Structures

Pricing for installing metal structures is mainly divided into those quoted per square meter of material and those quoted per ton of material.

The cost of installation will depend directly on the volume of work with metal structures. For example, when installing more than 100 tons of metal structures, the rate will drop to $590 compared to $680 needed for payment for installing 5 tons of metal.

In the case of oversized orders, such as building a canopy, pricing per ton is not suitable – costs are calculated based on actual work performed. The average cost for manufacturing and installing a metal frame for a canopy is $35–$50 per square meter.

Often companies involved in manufacturing, supplying, and installing metal structures for large construction projects also engage in less bulky production – garage construction, for example, or manufacturing various types of gates (garage, courtyard, roll-up, welded, etc.) and fences.

When ordering gates, the estimate will include payment for preparing the foundation (around $200), manufacturing, delivery, and installation of profiled sheet cladding ($900), as well as optional equipment with an electric drive and its subsequent installation ($400 and $120 respectively).
