Indeed, installing light fixtures in gypsum board has become a form of hobby for some people, while architects and designers seem to be constantly looking for reasons to use this method.
Gypsum board is, in itself, a nearly universal material — it can be used for thermal insulation, soundproofing and provides an opportunity for any designer's imagination, one of which is realized through the installation of ceiling lighting.

Installing Ceiling Light Fixtures
Installation of light fixtures is almost always done as the final step. This is preceded by finishing the ceiling and possibly walls with gypsum board.
Installation of a suspended ceiling with lighting is impossible without special P-shaped galvanized profiles.
Therefore, before becoming part of the ceiling assembly, finishing elements are first assembled on the floor and then secured in place using partition stud profiles.
In simpler terms, decorative ceiling elements are inserted into the already installed suspended ceiling. While installation rules do not specify a strict order for adding additional elements to a rafter ceiling, it's still advisable to plan the installation sequence beforehand. In this case, the installation technology largely depends on the complexity of the structure and how many assembly methods the designer can come up with.
The first layer on the ceiling consists of guide rails, under which it is recommended to place special vibration-damping tape. This also makes the entire structure more soundproof.
The ideal in this regard is a grillo ceiling, which is a solid or strip construction made of individual blocks, where ceiling light fixtures of various designs are mounted on the rafter suspended structure.
This type of installation is also an effective decorative material, which has found application both in bathroom areas and in large supermarkets.
Installing Armstrong Fixtures: Budget-Friendly Alternative
A simpler and perhaps more simplified alternative to grillo is installing Armstrong fixtures.
Installing Armstrong light fixtures, the price for this type of decorative ceiling is slightly lower than grillo, uses more gypsum board than metal structures and light fixtures. However, the installation of these light fixtures, which cost about the same as those used in grillo, takes much less time, and the space for creativity is just as great.
Additional technological enhancements include using various sensors; for example, installing a light sensor can monitor brightness and timely lighting (this is particularly relevant in large public spaces), using neon lighting expands decoration options for retail spaces and personal areas.
Using LED lighting is not only a step toward new emotions but also greater energy savings, which is highly relevant in today's world. Finally, combining different methods is possible — it just requires a sense of balance and natural creativity.
