House V by Jaime Ortiz de Zevallos
Jaime Ortiz de Zevallos designed House V in a traditional residential area of Lima, Peru. This luxurious modern home is just over 3500 square feet distributed across two levels. The house protects a private courtyard, providing maximum privacy from the street.

House V is located in a traditional residential neighborhood of Lima where single-story houses and low-rise buildings dominate the plot with a north-west facade facing sunset. The project was developed as a four-story building on a small lot between two existing homes with a large program for a family of three children.
To increase the garden space, ensure privacy and controlled outside views, the house was raised above street level creating a large underground garage, storage and gym with a terrace connected to the house via two staircases.
The first floor was designed for social areas such as a living room, dining room, barbecue terrace and small office around the garden, while the kitchen faces the street and underground terrace. The second and third floors were created for private home spaces from a practical standpoint.
The second floor was developed as a bedroom zone, and the third floor was carved into the main facade to allow more light to enter inside and reduce the scale of the house from the garden perspective, creating a terrace space for family room and office. The service zone was also placed on this level to ensure proper lighting and ventilation.
As with most of our projects, the house was entirely built from concrete and steel to express its structural characteristics and plasticity, allowing it to form spaces and capture light, defining internal and external zones using a series of vertical and horizontal wooden screens to control access to light and privacy of spaces.
