Installation of Iron Doors
Manufacturing and installation of iron doors already have a well-established technology; in other words, when purchasing a door, the consumer also purchases its installation technology. That is why the installation of an iron door is often sold, in a literal sense, together with the door itself. Therefore, both manufacturing and installation should be considered as a single product, which is important when searching for a supplier at the initial stage.
Proper door installation begins with preparation: preparing the door opening, which can be done by yourself to speed up the entire process:
- involves cleaning everything around on the walls and near them (panels, wiring, furniture, etc.),
- removing the old door, removing the old door frame and trim, etc.
- Additionally, and this can be included in the installation cost, it may involve either expanding or narrowing the door opening.
Next, the door frame is installed using fastening pins if wall thickness allows. Otherwise, the frame is mounted overlapping the wall, reinforcing it. At this stage, the frame is aligned according to three coordinates: height, width, and depth; however, final securing is not yet performed because additional adjustment may be needed after the door panel is installed.
It should be remembered that the hinge side is installed and aligned first, and final alignment on the lock side is done only after the door panel is hung.

Installing a metal door on hinges is a kind of test for the correctness and strength of the frame installation. Moreover, if such metal doors use hardened locks with bolts around the entire perimeter of the door, then at this stage of installation, it is necessary to check their operability and security.
The reason is that metal doors are installed when the hinges and locks on them, as a rule, are already in place. This means that aligning the door, its locks, and their mounting with the frame is transferred to the moment of installing the door panel. Consequently, all shortcomings and misalignments can only be corrected at this point of installation.
The final stage is installing door casings if the design allows, sealing gaps between the wall and the door frame, and applying additional coating to the door panel if required.
Attention! Everything related to finishing work on installing a metal door must be agreed upon in the contract and reflected in the acceptance act — this format is clear to both the client and the executor.
After completing the installation and, possibly, finishing work on a metal door, the executor provides a brief instruction to the client regarding proper door usage and maintenance.
On their part, the client or their representative should inspect the door frame and door panel before and after installation to ensure there are no mechanical defects in the structure. For example, the metal panel and welds should not have cracks or other signs of mechanical damage that could indicate a breach in the door's integrity.
Installation of Iron Doors: Price and Its Components
The question – how much does the door itself and its installation cost – makes sense only for comparing approximately similar offers on the market for these services: the cost of installation is always, or almost always, more favorable when purchased together with the door itself. Even when considering the installation of iron doors separately from the purchased structure, it is recommended to follow general rules and technologies: so that the door can be installed with standard tools. In this case, the concept of "cheap" will have meaning and can be compared with similar offers from other companies.

Regarding prices on doors with steel panels, it can be said that the cheapest products come from China, while doors from brands like Mario Rioli, Sofia, Radа, Rus Les, Volkhovets are in demand due to their quality level. Lower prices for services and products in Moscow and Kyiv (prices are given in rubles and hryvnia respectively) are approximately as follows:
