Installation and manufacturing of fire doors are licensed activities. For the end user, this means that a company offering such services on the market produces and installs doors in accordance with standards and regulations meeting a number of requirements.

Requirements for installing fire doors are no less strict than the requirements for materials from which they are made — metal, wood, fire-resistant glass.
Fire doors can be single- and double-leaf. Thus, the need for aesthetic design of a door in a specific room is determined by the room itself: if it's an office or meeting place, it is most likely advisable to choose materials and color to match the interior, whereas when discussing production rooms or warehouses, a standard set with the required throughput (one or two leaves) is sufficient.

Fire Door Installation Technology
Fire door installation technology differs slightly from regular door installation for several reasons, the main ones being functional performance in extreme conditions, increased resistance to fire and high temperatures. Additionally, when installing, one must consider the type and thickness of the wall in which the selected door will be installed. In general, there are several methods of door installation:
- in opening: a sufficiently robust mounting method, providing high degree of insulation and protection from malicious intent;
- on hinges: the door is mounted on hinges attached to the door frame; this method is acceptable for thick walls (>160mm);
- with overlay: this is a compensatory method when wall thickness is small, using a door leaf larger in area than the door opening; if the installation is done properly, the reliability of such a construction is comparable to the above-mentioned methods.
Otherwise, installation of fire doors (video materials demonstrating door installation, more than enough) does not differ from installation of regular interior or exterior doors:
- preparation of the door opening: it needs to be made or existing door removed; this is usually the most labor-intensive part;
- installation of the door frame: performed taking into account the installation method;
- installation of the door leaf: same as for regular doors;
- installation of hardware: also, just like for a standard door.

Quote for door installation depends on installation conditions and scope of preparatory work. The cost of the doors themselves depends on a number of factors. For example, if a standard door is purchased, its price will always be lower than that of a custom-made door.
Naturally, sending a team of qualified installers to the site will be more justified if several doors are installed at once — one can calmly demand a discount, priority execution of the order and free service support.
In this market segment, well-known names can be found and identified (Rus Les, Sofia, Mario Rioli, Rada, Volkhovets), but in most cases, local companies' products and services that take into account local conditions and have appropriate certifications and permits can provide serious competition.
