Choosing Albes Reed Ceiling
Albes reed ceilings are divided into several types. Among them:
- Curved;
- Omega;
- Italian design;
- German design.
Several color options are available to suit any preferences:
- gold;
- chrome;
- metallic;
- white matte;
- white glossy;
- super chrome;
- super gold.
If these colors don't appeal to you or you need more options, other colors can be chosen according to the RAL color chart.
Let's now look at the advantages of Albes reed ceilings and see what makes them stand out from others.
- Universal application – they can be used in finishing any room, from classical interiors to modern designs;
- ceiling rails are frost-resistant, colorfast, and water-resistant (allowing for cleaning with cleaning agents);
- ceiling components are made of eco-friendly materials;
- various elements can be easily integrated if desired;
- the suspension system allows for creating multi-level suspended ceilings;
- reed ceiling has unlimited service life;
- reed ceilings are relatively simple to install;
- the calculated thickness, dimensions, and types of profiles ensure high strength and stiffness of the structure, preventing deformation under mechanical loads;
- due to material properties, such ceilings have increased corrosion and chemical resistance.

By the way, Albes German design is assembled with inserts, so you can combine ceiling colors and apply your creativity.
The price of reed ceilings varies depending on parameters and color options.
In Moscow – from 43 to 110 rubles per square meter.
In Kiev – from 60 to 270 UAH per square meter.
Bard Reed Ceiling
Let's now move to an alternative to the described Albes reed ceilings. We will now look at the Bard reed ceiling. Reed ceilings with this poetic name are also manufactured by a Russian producer.
Like the previously described, the Bard reed ceiling is used in the decoration of residential and office spaces, shopping centers, stores, schools, and medical facilities.
These ceilings have dust-repelling, moisture-resistant coating and non-flammable base. Due to the material properties, the ceilings are durable and long-lasting. According to information provided by the manufacturers themselves, all their products meet sanitary and hygiene requirements.
Regarding technical specifications, Bard reed ceilings consist of aluminum strips (0.3–0.33 mm thick), with one square meter weighing no more than 1.5 kg.
The low weight of the products allows for their use in finishing external surfaces. The reed ceiling design allows assembling them in any plane. In rooms with high vibration, aluminum reed ceilings with rigid panel mounting on load-bearing stringers are used.

The ceiling elements are made from aluminum alloys, coated with a primer or lacquer on the back side and paint and primer on the front. The standard profile thickness is from 0.33 to 0.3 mm. Fastening elements are made of galvanized steel and consist of a stringer, spring, and pin.
Advantages of Bard ceilings:
- Reed ceilings can hide flaws in your actual ceiling, ventilation systems, or electrical wiring;
- they cost less than other options;
- the materials meet ecological and hygiene standards;
- due to the non-flammable base, dust- and moisture-resistant coating, these ceilings are durable and strong.
Different from Albes, Bard ceilings come in only two types:

Cesal Reed Ceiling
The third point in our journey through the world of reed ceilings – Cesal ceilings. The reed ceiling from this Russian manufacturer is also made of aluminum.
Cesal is recommended for use in places like train stations and airports, children's centers and medical facilities, offices, residential homes, pavilions, and shopping halls.
The product of this manufacturer is also characterized by low cost and easy installation. It should be noted that all three Russian manufacturers we've described are similar in many ways. They differ mainly in some technical specifications and color palette selection. According to information from the manufacturer, Cesal offers a wide variety of colors and designs.
Let's move to the technical side. The Cesal reed ceiling consists of a suspension system and reed plates. The ceiling design is determined by the type of reeds. These can be:
- of various widths (from 50 to 200 mm);
- with perforated or smooth surfaces;
- of various colors.
Cesal can also be either closed (tabs instead of closing reeds) or open type (gaps between panels are filled with special rails).
Perforated reeds improve ventilation in the room. The reeds, made from aluminum, are coated with a durable layer of paint that protects against oxidation. Note that such ceiling structures reduce room height by at least 40–100 mm. But they effectively hide all flaws.

Other Reed Ceiling Variants
Let's consider other options.
The German reed ceiling from Geipel belongs to the open-type reed ceilings and consists of aluminum ceiling panels of type 'N', which come in three types:
Geipel panels are mounted on a universal load-bearing stringer. To fill longitudinal gaps, inter-rail inserts are used, which is typical for open-type ceilings.
English manufacturer Armstrong divides its suspended ceilings into types according to their intended use:
- hygienic;
- moisture-resistant;
- acoustic;
- designer.
Reed ceilings from the Ceiling Group USA Corporation are popular in Europe and North America for about 15 years. These ceilings are also suitable for use in humid environments and attract with relatively low prices.
The color palette includes 28 colors and shades, available in matte or glossy finishes and metallic variants. For connoisseurs, there's an option to order a mirror coating or wood-like finish.
The structure consists of P-shaped profiles and pins with fixators, allowing adjustment of ceiling height.

The Dutch company Hunter Douglas offers reed ceilings with various types of reeds, both straight and curved, as well as two types of suspension systems – visible and hidden. The panels from this manufacturer are made from aluminum-magnesium alloy with a three-layer coating of white or colored paint. Panels can be solid or perforated.
The suspension system consists of longitudinal and transverse profiles, hangers mounted to the ceiling slabs, and corner brackets.
Suspended Grillato ceilings are the latest trend in interior design. Essentially, such a ceiling is a volumetric aluminum grid made of small square cells with sizes ranging from 5 to 20 centimeters. These ceilings are recommended for decorating large rooms. They are moisture-resistant, eco-friendly, and durable.
The Russian company Lumosvet offers various constructions, among which you can select the one that perfectly suits your needs in shape. Lumosvet ceiling designs are divided into groups:
- Reed ceilings with rounded edges (OR and KL) – ceiling rails with rounded corners;
- Reed ceilings with square edges (DELTA and GAMMA) – characterized by rectangular shape;
- Gapless reed ceilings (OMEGA and SIGMA) – ceilings assembled tightly with no gaps between rails.
Another Dutch company Luxalon manufactures reed ceiling elements from the thickest aluminum strip, 0.6 mm thick, and is known for high strength. The profile with a wide shelf helps hide all possible installation defects.
The reed ceiling has an enamel coating. When assembled, these ceilings have no gaps and look elegant. They are recommended for indoor and outdoor use, as they are frost-resistant. Luxalon ceilings can also be made in two levels.

All these types of ceilings can easily be found in various construction stores, for example, in Leroy Merlin. Their branches can be found not only in Russia but also in Ukraine.
