Spaces Filled with Unbelievable Atmosphere

Everyone knows that the moment a fireplace is added to any space, it instantly becomes cozier and warmer: you immediately want to brew a delicious cup of tea, grab your favorite book, wrap yourself in a blanket, and enjoy the sound of crackling logs.

We've gathered eight interiors where the fireplace has become the central decorative element. Get inspired and take these ideas for your own home: during the cold winter months, such a comforting atmosphere is more than welcome!

House in Denmark

The house, designed by the architecture firm Sleth, is home to a writer. The space was envisioned not only as a place for comfortable living but also as a workspace and creative zone. During breaks, the owner can admire the picturesque forest landscape through panoramic windows.

The stunning fireplace with colorful finishing sits at the center of one of the rooms. It sharply contrasts with natural materials and the restrained color palette of the interior. The chimney was painted blue — this decision made the fireplace the main feature in the room.

Casa Malalcahuello, Chile

This red-roofed building was designed by GAAA studio: the structure is located on a mountain slope. For interior finishing, wood was chosen, and an open layout erased boundaries — the rooms became spacious and bright.

One of the key features of the interior is the fireplace, which spans from the first floor to the wood-paneled pointed roof. To create a cozy atmosphere, partial stonework was chosen, and comfortable armchairs were arranged around the fireplace.

Cottage by the Lake, Canada

Canadian architectural studio UUfie added an extension to a forest cabin. An unusual move was the mirror entrance hall and an original fireplace in the living room.

Here, a separate house was literally designed for the fireplace: there’s a sloped roof and a small window housing the fireplace. The opening between the fireplace and the wall is also part of the composition — it holds the firewood.

Penthouse in Belgium

A luxurious penthouse in Belgium — a project of the Belgian studio Adjo. For wall finishing, cherry wood veneer was chosen, and the rooms were zoned with partitions and furniture.

A stylish accent is the modern-style fireplace — it also serves to divide space between the living room and library. Cherry wood cladding echoes the wall design, and the stove was installed on a stone base.

O12, Germany

The triangular fireplace takes center stage in the artist’s residence in Berlin. The project was handled by German architect Philipp von Matt: the residence is designed as a hybrid of art and architecture.

For the fireplace, the project’s creator drew inspiration from classical architecture: it references the Pyramid of Cestius in Rome and the tomb of sculptor Antonio Canova in Venice.

Mountain Chalet, Canada

The architectural firm DKA Architects and interior design studio Kl.tz Design joined forces to create a ski chalet. The house includes an open-plan living room, stylish kitchen, and a large and cozy fireplace.

The wood-burning fireplace is the central element of the home: it harmoniously integrates into the space’s design, and a special side compartment allows convenient storage of firewood.

House in Australia

The house, designed by Australian architect John Wardle, is a dream space. The three-story residence includes everything for comfortable living, and the ocean view deserves special admiration.

Wood was used for interior finishing, and a large wood-burning fireplace in industrial style became the heart of the living room: it adds warmth and gives the interior a cottage-like charm.

House in Norway

The team at Atelier Oslo created an excellent and unique interior: it resembles a cave that miraculously appeared near a Norwegian lake.

Contrasting with the light walls is a black fireplace: it’s installed on an elevated platform in the center of the house and surrounded by smooth lines. The fireplace is built into marble slabs, and thanks to a glass dome, it creates the feeling of a real fire burning right in the middle of the room.
