Bright Interior Without a Designer: Cool Ideas and Common Mistakes

Recently, we were lucky enough to visit the apartment whose design is a true masterpiece. Its owner is Irina Orlova. The girl happily showed us her apartments, told how and why everything was done, and shared several secrets of quality renovation. The peculiarity of the work is that the girl took everything into her own hands, not trusting decorators with the decoration.

Entrance Hall

Irina started her apartment tour with the entrance hall. The room is entirely white. The only exception is the accent blue door, which blends very well into the overall interior design. A bold and quite risky solution, but it looks absolutely stunning.

The wardrobes in the entrance hall are quite large and spacious: they can store not only clothes but also, following Irina's example — a vacuum cleaner and an ironing board.

The floor is made of ceramic granite — a very durable material that is ideal for an entrance hall.

Kitchen

Irina initially planned to use laminate everywhere, but it's impractical on the kitchen floor. Instead, the girl used tiles similar in texture and color to the rest of the apartment's flooring. The most challenging part was joining different coverings. The worker couldn't make a perfect seam, so he used a cork compensator. However, Irina strongly advises against doing this, as it ruins the overall design.

The kitchen is almost entirely white, except for the countertop — it contrasts with black color. The same color is used for her sink and faucet — all in a checkered pattern.

Living Room

The kitchen and living room are combined. The space is quite vibrant and stands out from the overall interior due to various interesting colors.

The main feature of the room is the television. Besides gathering the whole family in front of it, it blends organically into the interior.

The coffee table has its own unique touch — it's not just a table but also a tray.

Bedroom

The room is entirely white, but with the help of textiles, Irina managed to 'play' with colors. The style is pop-art. For lighting, spotlights and a pendant lamp were used.

The main highlight is the vanity table, which looks simply magnificent and fits perfectly into the interior.

From the bedroom, we immediately enter the wardrobe, where a huge closet stands. It will be a paradise for the girl, as it can store everything — from clothes to jewelry.

Bathrooms

The apartment has two bathrooms. The utility bathroom is accessed from the wardrobe. For it, marble-like tiles were used on both floors and walls. The standout features in the overall white color are the concealed mixer, socket, hygiene faucet with a tropical shower, and towel hooks.

The guest bathroom also serves as a laundry room. The main feature is the sink, which Irina particularly loves. She told us that she specially visited a carpentry workshop for it.

Two hatches are hidden in the wall for access to utilities.
