Bright Studio Apartment 28 m² with Dark Green Walls
One of the standard requests from many homeowners before starting a renovation is to make more space in their apartment and transform the space stylistically. Designer Julia Veselova transformed a regular studio for a young couple into a spacious and aesthetic home in modern tones.
Let's see what exactly was implemented during the re-planning.
FinishingVisually expanding the square meters was made possible by the absence of doors, widening doorways, and combining the balcony with the room.
Oak parquet was laid on the floor, and the walls were painted with Little Greene paint (which highlighted the white skirting boards).
The bathroom floor was tiled with mosaic featuring a metallic effect, which added a unique touch to the space.

Storage SystemDespite the small area, a convenient storage system was organized throughout the apartment. For example, the wardrobe was placed in the hallway, which allowed avoiding placing wardrobes in the living room.
Books, newspapers, and other paper accessories are stored in drawers under the bed and on wall-mounted shelves. An additional clothing cabinet stands on the balcony.

FurnitureThe majority of the furniture was custom-made. For example, the bedroom bed was made from beech wood, and the kitchen cabinet was made from birch veneer by the factory "Medyn".

The dresser and IKEA table were moved from the previous apartment — though they were repainted to align with the overall concept.
Color PaletteSince the studio is located on the 16th floor, natural daylight enters it all day and night. Therefore, contrasting colors were chosen for the interior design.
Dark green was selected as the main color, which made the space deeper and multi-layered. This color choice also visually expanded the original 28 m².

DecorationThe small apartment was decorated in a travel and memory theme. The vintage carpet on the floor was purchased in Turkey, and the pendant lights were brought from Cologne.
There are many graphic and artistic works on the walls. The blue still life was created on order by artist Maria Smirnova — now it serves as a bold accent in the living space.
