How to Create a Happy Interior?
Knowledge in the field of psychology helps designers create an interior that adds vitality and energy, lifts your mood, and even helps fight depression
One of the most famous designers in America, Jonathan Adler, once wrote that “returning home should be an antidote to problems and traumas of daily life.” Therefore, you can make your interior healing and supportive for the homeowner or apartment resident — from the bad. Architect Marina Lapteva recently enrolled in the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis, became interested in design psychology and shares her secrets for creating an antidepressant interior.

1. Style
If you can't decide on the style of your future home, consider Scandinavian, fusion, kitsch, pop art, eco-style, or futurism with curved lines in the interior. All of these are easily perceived by the eye, and such an interior is more alive and positive due to bright colors.

2. Color
Every color has its own energy that influences our mood, well-being, and atmosphere in the home. Therefore, we use this power for our benefit.
Yellow color stimulates vision and the nervous system, energizes, improves intellectual and logical abilities, and instills a feeling of optimism. Orange color helps to free yourself and release internal conflicts. Blue color is valued for its calming effect on the psyche. White color carries a positive charge of good fortune and luck. Violet calms the nervous system and can be used when dealing with mental and nervous disorders.
3. Bright Accents
Using all the colors of the rainbow and making the interior too bright is still not advisable. Otherwise, the “positivity” you expect may start to irritate. The classic twelve-part color wheel will help with the proper placement of hues. Colors placed opposite each other are considered harmonious, no matter how incompatible they might seem at first glance.

4. Pets
This point may not directly relate to interior design, but having a beloved pet in the house enhances life force. The mutual exchange of positive energy between a person and an animal is beneficial for both parties.

5. Plants
Plants not only make the air cleaner but also provide aesthetic impact. The effect of flowers on people is called phytotherapy. For example, pansies may prevent nervous breakdowns and reduce excessive emotionalism, while dracaena at home won't allow depression or heavy thoughts to arise.
Orchids have the same effect. Listen to your own feelings and choose favorite flowers that lift your mood and improve your condition.

6. Home Accessories
Frames with favorite photos, cups and plates with cheerful images given by friends, souvenirs from different countries, a warm knitted blanket that warms you during cold winters… All of these are great antidepressants that complement the interior.
