Children's Room: Planning and Furnishing

Planning a renovation in a children's room often brings up many questions related to its setup and decoration. Where should you start? What wallpapers and furniture to choose? How to arrange all interior items harmoniously while making the room beautiful and unique?

In the sleeping zone, a bed will be placed. To highlight the rest area, you can paint the wall next to the bed in a calm tone. A light color will set a relaxing mood for the child and help them sleep. You can hang a canopy above the bed if it's a girl, or a tent-like structure if it's a boy.

Alternatively, you can place the bed in the darkest part of the room and hang a beautiful lamp above it. You can also buy a loft bed. By the way, under such a bed you can place a table and chair, storage boxes for clothes, and a play area.

The study zone includes a place where the child will do homework, read books or draw. It is better to place the table near a window. Make sure you have proper lighting. The chair should be adjustable, i.e., tall enough for the child. You can hang shelves for books on the walls or put a bookcase.

For creative works by the child, you should also find a place. Brushes, paints, pencils, clay, paper, frames and more can be placed in special niches, drawers, or sideboards. Also, put a shelf where your child can display their masterpieces. If the child loves to draw pictures, they can hang them next to the bed, as shown in the photo.

Moreover, children love to play anywhere, even on the bed. It's better if each toy has its own place in the interior. The child should be taught to keep order. They must know that after playing, everything goes back to its place. The play area can be highlighted with a soft rug.

You can also set up a small table and chairs, arrange board games and active play equipment. If space allows, you can install a sport complex with slides and ladders.

And of course, don't forget about wardrobes for children's belongings. This can be a built-in wardrobe-closet, a dresser, boxes near the bed, or suspended shelves.

The final stage will be decorating the children's room with various pictures, stickers, and other accessories.
