How will we stay warm during cool evenings? Wrapping ourselves in blankets? Putting on woolen socks? Drinking tea by the liter? Or maybe cynically use a cat as a heater? I suggest warming up by a fireplace. Even just looking at the flames makes you feel warmer. And if you add a warm cup of tea with raspberries, it becomes pure romance!

Of course, not every home has a fireplace, let alone an apartment. So today we'll build a fake fireplace that can be placed in any, even the smallest apartment.

Creating a fake fireplace yourself is not complicated at all. And now we will create this interior element together. It will be unconventional, cozy, warm and romantic.

Let's get started? We'll need:

  • decorative stones
  • silicone adhesive
  • fuel
  • cut glass
  • metal mesh
  • metal box

When choosing glass, it's best to do so after purchasing the metal box. Because in any "Glass Cutting" shop, they will adjust it to fit the dimensions of the box.

Glazed panels should be joined together with silicone.

Approach the gluing process with maximum attention. Press the edges of the glass until the adhesive dries. The structure must be rectangular.

Silicone adhesive takes about 20 minutes to dry. If the glue leaks out from under the seams, it can easily be removed with a blade.

Now let's connect the metal box and the glass structure. Apply adhesive to the upper edges of the box and the lower edges of the glass. Remember that the size of the glass structure should allow for placing a metal mesh inside.

By the way, we're slowly but surely moving towards completing the project!

Now inside our assembled structure, place a metal mesh (we used a regular grill rack). The mesh should rest on the edges of the box walls, so it doesn't need to be glued. Place a fuel container (in the center) under the mesh.

Pour decorative stones onto the mesh. Leave a small gap to ensure free access to the fuel container (this also ensures proper combustion).

Light it up! To ignite the "fireplace," use long fireplace matches or kindling.

This non-real fireplace will add comfort to your apartment. It can also make a unique gift: "With warmth and love!"
