How to Organize Space in a Small Apartment: 7 Great Ideas from the Project
Solutions that are easy to replicate in your own interior
Organizing space in a small apartment requires creativity and the ability to efficiently use every square meter. We share great ideas from Daria Buyanova's project — she renovated a tiny 19 sq. m studio and fitted in everything needed for comfortable living and work.
Smart Zoning
Creating independent functional zones is an important step when organizing a small apartment. For zoning, Daria chose a peninsula that serves multiple purposes: it acts as a dining table, separates the bedroom from the kitchen, and provides additional storage space.

Bed with Lift Mechanism
In small apartments, it's essential to choose furniture wisely. A full-size bed with a lift mechanism not only provides comfortable sleeping and resting but also allows convenient storage, saving space.

Workplace
Having a workspace is necessary for many people, especially those who work remotely. For this studio, the designer chose a white table that harmonizes with the rest of the furniture. The table has pull-out drawers, adding convenience to organizing the workspace.

Functional Kitchen
A small linear kitchen cabinet allows maximum efficiency of limited space. All appliances are built-in, creating a neat and modern look. The refrigerator was moved to an adjacent wall and integrated into the cabinet, saving precious space on the work surface.

Thoughtful Lighting
The room features several lighting scenarios: recessed spotlights in the kitchen area, under-cabinet lighting, a chandelier in the bedroom zone, wall sconces near the bed, and a floor lamp next to the workspace. This variety of light sources highlights the functionality of each area, adding comfort and harmony to the interior.

Large Storage Wardrobe
Storage plays a key role in small apartments. In addition to the wardrobe in the entryway, the studio features a large spacious wardrobe with shelves in the bedroom. One section has a built-in refrigerator, and others can hold various items: clothes, appliances, books or accessories.

Bathroom Organization
Placing a washing machine under the sink is not new, but still relevant. This approach saves space, ensures easy access to the machine, and maintains overall aesthetics.

As you can see, proper space organization in a small apartment requires thoughtful planning and creative solutions. By applying these ideas, you can create a comfortable and functional living space even in limited area.
