How beautifully designed a 5 sqm hallway in a Moscow Stalin-era apartment
Solutions that are easy to replicate in your own interior
Designer Elena Zufarova masterfully arranged the hallway in a three-room Stalin-era apartment for a collector's family, applying beautiful and functional solutions. She efficiently used the limited space while preserving an elegant style and a sense of the era.
The hallway walls are painted in a deep blue color, which adds depth to the room and makes the space more expressive. The floor features patterned tiles reminiscent of classic antique interiors. Freshness in the hallway comes from white doors and door frames and the ceiling, which contrast beautifully with the dark walls.
Storage is provided by a cabinet with open shelves, its fronts painted to match the wall color. There is also an open coat rack with a soft bench. This solution is convenient and practical: it allows for storing upper clothing and footwear, while the soft bench offers a comfortable spot for changing shoes. A small cabinet for rarely used items is also installed, helping to maintain order and free up space from unnecessary items.
The highlight of the hallway was a mirror with carved elements. It is mounted on legs and includes a shelf, allowing it to be used not only for checking one's appearance but also for storing small items. The carved details give the interior an elegant and original look, while the mirror surface visually expands the space.
By creating harmony between style and functionality, the designer demonstrated that even in a small space maximum comfort and convenience can be achieved. This project serves as inspiration for those who want to transform their hallway, adding character and warmth without forgetting practicality.
