Bright Mini Bathroom 2 m² with Vacation Vibe
Designer managed to create an atmosphere reminiscent of a seaside boutique hotel rather than a compact bathroom in a mini-house
A cottage in Smolensk region with a total area of only 24 m² was designed specifically for the housewife. The client dreamed of a mini-cottage where her mother could relax in summer, tend to the garden and not depend on the family schedule.
Designer Irina Sobylenskaya approached the task with soul and attention to detail: she preserved the lightness of space, fitted everything necessary and filled the interior with hints of travel and memories. The result was not just functional housing, but a true island of comfort, thought out to the smallest detail.

Particular attention deserves the bathroom — only 2.5 m², but it turned out not to be a boring 'wet zone', but a full-fledged room with mood and character. Here you want to stay, not just take a shower — exactly such an effect was aimed at by the designer.

For inspiration in decoration, exotic directions were used — eastern hotels, Mediterranean motifs, fairy-tale islands. The main wall is decorated with wallpaper featuring botanical patterns in a blue-white palette, which are complemented by an unusual mirror with a decorative frame.
To enhance the distant shore effect, a rattan-faced vanity unit, handcrafted ceramic sink and fixtures styled like aged brass were used.

In the shower area, tiles were laid vertically — warm ochre tones blend with the rest of the finishing but visually separate the shower zone. This is not just beautiful: this approach helps add depth and verticality to a tight space.

The ceiling was painted in a muted yellow color that extends to the upper part of the walls — this gives an opportunity to avoid the feeling of a 'box' and visually smooths out corners. The floor tiles were chosen with a vintage pattern, like from an old villa in Italy.

Special attention was paid to the water heater: it was disguised with a textile curtain on a guide rail. This is not only beautiful but also practical — access to the appliance remains unobstructed, while visual clutter is eliminated.
With such a bathroom even an ordinary day begins like a celebration.
