How to Make a Bright and Comfortable Bathroom: Heroine's Example
Tips and life hacks for creating a bright and functional space
In Nastya's apartment in the "Locomotive" housing complex, two bathrooms are provided: a spacious master bathroom and a small utility bathroom. The task of the homeowner is to make them not just utilitarian spaces, but stylish and functional areas. As a result, zones were created where every detail is thought out to the smallest detail.
Nastya, the apartment owner and translator, editorAs in the entire apartment, the renovation of the bathrooms began with rough work: wall leveling, tile laying, and plumbing installation. For the large bathroom, Nastya chose a bold palette — a combination of blue walls, green cabinet, and white elongated tiles.

The main challenge was finding suitable plumbing fixtures. Nastya insisted on a black floor-standing toilet, which proved to be a difficult task. She had to order it from Kazan, but the homeowner is satisfied that she found exactly what she was looking for.

Nastya decided to decorate the large bathroom in a spa style. Blue walls and a green cabinet create a cozy atmosphere, while white tiles give the room lightness and rhythm. Storage is organized using built-in cabinets for hygiene items, and small items are stored in wicker baskets.

Additional comfort is provided by posters and accessories. For example, Nastya chose a shower curtain with an original design that reminds her of Uffizi Gallery.

The small bathroom was turned into a space for Nastya's four-year-old daughter. A basket is provided here for storage, there is a poster with a Matisses reproduction and a vase gifted by mom.

One of the biggest life hacks was installing towel hooks directly on the towel rack. This allowed avoiding wall or door drilling.

It took about 160,000 rubles to renovate both bathrooms. Nastya did not skimp on plumbing fixtures, but she managed to save significantly on tiles. Instead of Italian Peronda, she chose more affordable options from Kerama Marazzi and Cersanit, saving about 100,000 rubles.

Another successful decision was buying a cabinet from Cersanit. It cost about 60,000 rubles on the official website, but Nastya found it on Ozon for 12,000 rubles, arranging delivery through friends.
Advice from Nastya:
- Don't be afraid of color. Blue and green accents made the bathroom colorful and stylish, while maintaining a sense of harmony.
- Invest in quality plumbing fixtures. A black floor-standing toilet became a bold interior detail, meeting all comfort requirements.
- Look for budget solutions. Buying tiles and furniture on sale significantly reduced expenses.
- Use hooks on the towel rack. A simple and inexpensive solution that eliminates the need for extra drilling.
- Give character. Posters, shower curtains with unique designs, and accessories with a history transform a utilitarian space into a stylish and cozy one.
