This 60 sqm apartment in a new building in Tver was almost empty — bare brick walls and concrete floors. The 14.5 sqm kitchen became the heart of the home, combining the functions of a kitchen, living room, and relaxation area. Our heroine Alina decided to create a cozy space where the whole family could spend time comfortably and entertain guests.

After rough work, including wall leveling and screed laying, the owners began planning the lighting and placement of sockets to create a convenient space. Sketching the plan by hand, they determined the placement of light fixtures, switches, and household appliances, ensuring functionality in every corner of the kitchen.

The kitchen cabinet was designed by the owners themselves, including several design options. Based on the final project, they ordered LDP cutting, and the doors were chosen later. Initially, the kitchen had open shelves but later added two types of doors: concrete and mint-white tones.

This combination gave the space a fresh and modern look. A fireplace imitation made from furniture board was additionally created to enhance the coziness, which the couple assembled and decorated themselves.

The dining table was also made by hand: the metal base harmonizes with a solid countertop made from old planks.

These planks, found in the attic of a dacha, were processed, sanded, and coated with special furniture oil. The Viennese chairs were purchased on Avito and updated — repainted in a suitable tone, replacing the upholstery to fit perfectly into the interior style.

Final touches were live plants that add warmth and freshness to the space.

Green tones particularly delight the eyes in winter when there’s a lack of colors outside. The kitchen has become not only a functional place for cooking but also a favorite relaxation zone for the whole family.
