5 Cool Ideas You Spotted in a Designer's Project
Find inspiration for your interior
Designer Olga Komarova created a vibrant and memorable interior in a small 27 sq. m studio apartment located in an 18th-century building. The main task was to create a comfortable space for relaxation while preserving the spirit of the era. We showcase cool ideas from this project that are definitely worth your attention.
Overview of the Apartment (23 minutes)
Authentic Brickwork
The original brickwork was intentionally left exposed to preserve the historical texture of the walls. The bricks were painted white, softening their bright terracotta color. Brick walls serve as expressive accents that give the space a special mood and unique charm, making it more prestigious and exclusive.

Vintage Items
The apartment is filled with antiques and vintage items. Chandeliers, a sofa in the bathroom, mirrors, and lampshades — these unique historical finds bring character and history to the interior. The door frame, which borders the hallway door, was restored by the owner herself, trying to keep its original texture. It became the starting point for creating the entire interior concept.

Cozy Details
Thanks to the interplay of materials with different textures and surfaces, the interior turned out very warm and cozy. There is an abundance of textiles, many cushions, a textured carpet in the bedroom area, and a velvet-upholstered sofa — everything invites pleasant and comfortable rest.

Functional Window Sills
The wooden window sills are made from furniture plywood and coated with wax. They were deliberately made wide to serve as additional seating areas. Socket outlets are installed in the window frames so that fairy lights, lamps, and gadgets can be plugged in.

Storage in Niches
A functional solution for the bathroom is shelves built into the niche. These shelves serve as the main storage space in this room and significantly improve its ergonomics.
