Atmospheric 5.5 sqm Kitchen in a Khrushchyovka, Decorator's Personal Design
Interior features repainted furniture, handmade tiles, and vintage elements
This small yet highly impactful kitchen is located in the apartment of decorator Dasha Soboleva in a five-story Khrushchyovka building of series 1-511, constructed in 1958. With limited budget and time, the owner undertook a cosmetic renovation and used decorative elements to enhance the ambiance.
The apartment had already undergone reconfiguration: the entrance to the kitchen was moved into the living room, and part of the hallway was converted into a niche for the refrigerator in the kitchen.

Some furniture was retained from the previous renovation: the lower part of the kitchen unit is IKEA. The fronts were repainted to match the wall color.

The kitchen concept is inspired by a trip to Marrakech, so the decorator chose a dusty rose shade for the walls, kitchen fronts, and even household appliances — for example, a regular exhaust hood was also repainted.

The backsplash was tiled with handmade rectangular tiles, and upper cabinets were replaced with open shelves.

The interior features a lot of vintage furniture and tableware. Living room plants add to the overall atmosphere.
