Small hallway with super convenient layout
Corner furniture on order? Why not, if it increases storage capacity several times
Designer Maria Roshkova from Prorooms studio came up with an unusual and very functional layout for a hallway in a typical 55 sq. m. two-bedroom apartment.
The apartment is from old residential stock, and the renovation was not done for a very long time. The client decided to remove all the finishing, floor coverings, and take out all furniture and equipment. The designer suggested removing the door and the entire wall at the entrance to the kitchen and joining it with the corridor. However, the width of the hallway and the corridor did not allow installing standard furniture.

To place a full-size wardrobe in the corridor, the entrance to the first room was moved slightly to the left from the corridor. This allowed creating a corner in the corridor and closing it with mirror doors. Behind them are hangers for outerwear, a large attic for storing bulky suitcases, and shelves for organizing gloves and scarves. Here, the electrical panel is also hidden and the low-voltage system is connected.

Thanks to the well-structured geometry and the large mirror on the wall opposite the entrance to the apartment and the mirror doors on the wardrobe, an effect was achieved where you can see yourself from all sides. This is very convenient when getting ready, especially in a small space.

One of the walls of the hallway adjoins the bathroom. On it, wooden rails with hooks were placed for outerwear currently in use, as well as a mirror panel. Its reflection shows the mirror wardrobe – it creates a play of volumes and reflections.

The seat is made in a triangular shape, the construction is suspended and does not occupy floor space. You can put shoes there that were just taken off after a walk.
