We have already told how designers from the bureau 'ArkhOsnova' created a unified space of a 33-square-meter studio apartment with a logical transition between all main functional zones. Today we want to remind you of the most interesting ideas that are worth taking note of.

Window Sill flush with the Wall

Usually, if a window sill protrudes beyond the wall level, it hinders opening cabinets or appliances and requires creating a special gap. In this kitchen, there was no extra space, so the designers made the window sill flush with the wall. They also slightly moved the radiator to allow access to the oven.

The window sills throughout the apartment are made of natural oak, similar to the countertop material. You can consider it an extension of the kitchen work surface and use it for kitchen accessories and appliances.

Hinged Partition

To harmonize the bathroom door leading into the living room, designers created a glass partition that can be positioned in two ways. In open mode, it serves as corridor zoning and can fold up to become a glass door for the shelf without overloading the unified living room space.

Green Windows

You can make a space unconventional using window frames. Here, they chose a dark green shade. This creates an attractive contrast between white walls and colored windows.

Shelving Zoning

A large shelf serves as both zoning and creates a private bedroom area. This structure lets light through and looks decorative from all sides.

Round Window Between Bathroom and Kitchen

The standard rectangular window typical of Soviet apartments was replaced with a more modern version — a cosmic theme inspired the creation of a round-shaped window between the kitchen and bathroom, resembling a planet. The designers integrated a small shelf into the window frame where you can place a potted plant.
