We are used to seeing ceramic tile or tile "boar" on the kitchen floor, and experiments with color palettes of kitchens can be endless. However, we want to remind that using wood in interior design is one of the major trends today, and interesting solutions can also be implemented on the kitchen. We have collected modern and beautiful spaces with wood: from window frames to furniture and kitchen islands.
Muswell Hill house, United Kingdom
Architecture for London studio transformed a dilapidated building into a modern energy-saving house, where materials such as wood, stone and lime plaster were used. Special attention should be paid to the bright and spacious kitchen.
Here furniture made of light oak contrasts with grey limestone chandeliers. The studio also left the original wooden roof to emphasize the modest beauty of the structure.

The exterior of the American "Surf House" is made from wood by bureau Feldman Architecture. This warm material was also chosen for the kitchen with an ocean view: you will see amazing wooden panels here. The interior is thought out so as to fit into the surrounding environment: cypress wood became the center of design.
On the kitchen countertops, wall near the stove and wooden kitchen island are framed with black marble which creates an impressive contrast with warm wood.

The name of the London house speaks for itself: it owes its name to lush interiors. The 1920s building was restored by a team of architects from Nimtim Architects. The project authors used multifunctional partitions made of plywood.
The kitchen features wonderful decorative arches that make the space more fluid, and ball and crescent-shaped lamps add their own flair. Thanks to carefully selected decor, the kitchen does not look empty or too simple.

The wooden interior of the Hood Cliff Retreat hotel fully corresponds to the landscape: the vacation house is located in a coastal forest in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. American studio Wittman Estes developed an interior using simple details and a restrained palette of materials, including pine plywood.
The kitchen countertops are made from wood gathered from an old hut that stood on the site before. It seems such reuse should be studied.

This spacious farm house in Tasmania is designed to allude to traditional rural buildings. At the same time, the interior is quite striking: it helped with plywood cladding. Ceilings repeat the angular roof line, and sheep's wool from the farm was used for insulation.
In the kitchen and living room, wood was taken for furniture and the kitchen island, as well as for a low table next to the wood-burning stove where three sculptural vases are placed.

The interior of the Fjord boat house, clad in black wood, is characterized by a warm material palette. The gaze is drawn to oak walls and cabinets, as well as a floor made of handmade ceramic brick. The stylish and nature-inspired project was handled by the architecture bureau Norm Architects.
Oak panels blend excellently with a wooden dining table and chairs in the kitchen, while a large hanging lamp designed by Norm Architects together with Japanese brand Kojima Shouten hangs above the table and adds authenticity.

The combination of stone floor and countertops with a wooden wall on this Portuguese kitchen creates an original contrast of materials and gives the room a more luxurious look.
According to Atelier Espaço P2 architectural studio, the kitchen located in a recessed wooden space created under a gabled ceiling is finished with wood and stone to achieve a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

Point Lonsdale House is the work of architecture bureau Edition Office. The kitchen and living room share a common motif — natural wood texture looks simply magnificent and makes the interior warmer and cozier.
The materials used in construction differ by refinement and sophistication. In the living room — dark wood planks, natural materials were also chosen for the kitchen. Grey stone, green plants and decorative metal vases highlight the restrained luxury of the space.
