Unforgettable Interior of a Studio Apartment with 6-Meter Ceilings
Unusual designer solutions and great ideas
LOCATION: MoscowTYPE OF HOUSE: MonolithicAREA: 75 sq. mROOMS: 2BATHROOMS: 2DESIGN: Darya VasilevaLayoutIn these apartments with a total area of 45 square meters, Darya planned to stay only on weekends. Fortunately, high ceilings allowed her to add a second floor to expand the space almost twofold.

The first floor was equipped with a living room, kitchen, and bathrooms, while the second floor housed the bedroom.
FinishingThe apartment was finished with aged materials—plaster with antique brick. This gives the interior a look of a historic estate.

Parquet boards were laid on the floor, and the tiles for the bathroom were brought from Italy.

StorageNot many storage spaces were created, as the owner did not intend to spend much time here. A wardrobe was built-in in the hallway, and a dressing room was organized on the second floor.
The kitchen cabinet also includes all necessary elements, including drawers for dishes and a niche for household appliances. The sink and stove were placed on the island with a suspended hood. A dining table with vibrant chairs was also placed nearby.
DecorVibrant accents in the bright interior include colorful furniture and decor from various countries. Most of the items were brought by Darya during her world travels.

For example, a crystal chandelier in the living room from the Paris exhibition Maison & Object, an antique commode in the bedroom in the style of shinauzari—bought at a flea market in Lille, a bedside table from Bali Island, and a carpet from the Istanbul bazaar.
