Beautiful interior without designer help

Karina and Yuri fully furnished their apartment themselves. The couple wanted to use the space as efficiently as possible (total apartment area is 50 m²) and create a light interior filled with light and air — and they succeeded completely. A key role was played by perfectly planned storage — everything has its place in the apartment and nothing is extra. When choosing finishing materials, they stuck to the golden mean: domestic ones were mixed with foreign, budget options with more expensive ones.

To make the apartment look bigger, all walls were painted in a neutral light grey tone with Dulux paint. It became the perfect backdrop for bright accents. But the main feature of this apartment is the perfectly planned storage systems. A bed with a lifting mechanism for seasonal items and a huge wardrobe spanning the whole wall.

In small apartments even a couple of centimeters can be crucial, so all the solid furniture (window sills, wardrobes) was custom-made. Ready-made furniture is mostly from IKEA. Karina works in Daria Geyler's studio — including conducting masterclasses. Therefore, a significant part of the decor was made by hand.

Thus, around the window, there appeared a kind of "frame" made from wardrobes and space for relaxation. The wide windowsill has been Karina's long-time dream.
