How to stay within budget and plan everything down to the smallest detail

Budget-friendly apartment renovation is a dream for many homeowners. Is it really possible to fit the entire renovation within 900 thousand rubles?

Exactly this amount was the budget for the project by Любовь Уткина, who was responsible for decorating a tiny studio for a young couple. Since the clients plan to rent out the property in the future, the designer had only one task — to create a basic interior with a sleeping area.

Let's see how this was implemented in practice.

Materials and Furniture

Expensive renovation was not planned from the start, so savings were made in every aspect of the project. Building materials were purchased at markets, and furniture — from well-known mass-market retailers.

However, some pieces from IKEA and Hoff were diversified with Venetian chairs, and a painting above the bed was created from a piece of fabric and an IKEA frame.

Lюбовь considers the most cost-effective solution to be German wallpaper Rasch with a simulated decorative stucco effect. These look significantly more expensive than standard materials and make up the smallest portion of the costs.

Kitchen

Since the studio has an elongated shape, the kitchen and bedroom zones were separated using an IKEA shelf. To expand the working surface, the countertop was extended to the windowsill.

The kitchen was completed by a private company: they installed a standard cabinet, pull-out sections, and overhead cabinets.

Bathroom

The bathroom was also fully equipped with everything necessary, including a sink, mirror cabinet, washing machine, and toilet.

The shower platform was reconfigured: the tempered glass of the shower enclosure had to be shortened. The shower with a water heater was cleverly disguised behind doors with a collector unit.
