Scandinavian Style: 10 Great Projects by Designers
Inspire yourself with ideas and take useful tips note
Simplicity, democracy, functionality, minimalism, bright accents and cool colors are the basis of Scandinavian style. Let's see how our designers bring these principles to life.
Small and Budget Studio for a Student
This project is an example of a situation where there's neither time nor money for renovation. But the desire to live comfortably, even minimally, is strong. The recipe for a budget-friendly yet modern and un boring interior is known – Scandinavian style and IKEA furniture help in the most difficult cases.
Designers played with color: part of the hallway and kitchen were painted in a vibrant salmon tone, while for the bathroom a bright ceramic tile mural with an Eastern pattern was chosen.

Gray Interior That Became Bright in Spring
In this project, it's clearly seen how designers worked on the shortcomings of the original layout. To add extra meters to the bathroom, designers Ekaterina Beloykova and Olga Karayani slightly reduced the hallway.
Neutral gray background in the public area of the apartment was diluted with bright accents: a yellow sofa, cushions with colorful prints and pop-art style paintings unite the natural honey-colored floors. Bright spots in the hallway are added by a colorful cabinet with drawers and a Kare Design chandelier. In the bedroom, light turquoise wallpapers combine with a yellow duvet and coral cushions.

Two-Bedroom Apartment with a Million-Ruble Renovation
Designer Anna Morozova selected soft calming tones and a simple setup, basing her work on Scandinavian style. She notes that the 'interior is not overloaded with decoration and color, it emits lightness, naturalness and simplicity.' Since the renovation had to be done as economically as possible, she opted out of re-planning.

Townhouse in Scandinavian Style in Novobakayevо
For decorating a bright cozy space, white backgrounds and light pastel tones were chosen, rejecting bright accents. Individuality to the interior is given by many simple decorative elements – posters and murals, carved wooden letters.
Besides, authors of the project paid great attention to selecting lighting fixtures. While in the attic and kitchen they are simple and functional, in the bedrooms there appeared unusual fluffy chandeliers.

Dark Apartment Made Light and Cozy
As a result of re-planning, the apartment is conditionally divided into a living area (bedroom and children's room) and non-living space (kitchen, wardrobe and bathrooms). The division is due to the placement of panoramic windows and the most optimal use of the large internal space of the apartment, which does not receive daylight.
The color palette of the interior was dictated by the architecture of the space and the client's requirement for its universality and non-intrusiveness. A neutral base was used in the interior.

Small Two-Bedroom Apartment with Kitchen Island and Pink Bathroom
For finishing, high-quality paint and wallpapers were chosen as an accent – in the bedroom blue 'waves' wallpapers transition from walls to ceiling. In the living room, yellow paint was used to draw decorative 'light rays' – a memorable detail.
The floor is made of parquet boards from a domestic manufacturer, which attracted designers with its color, texture and acceptable price.

Cozy St. Petersburg Apartment in Scandinavian Style
Customers wanted to get a warm, cozy interior where they would feel completely comfortable. Positive emotions were evoked by simple forms, a combination of white and gray tones with light wood, geometric patterns and natural motifs, so the decision was made to base the apartment's interior on Scandinavian style.
The color solution is built on a combination of gray and light wood with reddish undertones. Bright accents in the interior are provided by furniture.

Small Moscow Apartment That Seems Large
In search of an optimal layout solution, a keel-shaped entrance hall was designed, with two door openings symmetrically placed in the 'keel'. One leads to the living room, the other – to the wardrobe.
The interior's color scheme is built on shades of gray. According to the designer, the choice of a gray palette is not accidental: it's the color of the house facade built in the same 70s, and the 'woolen' mood associated with this period in our country's history.

Small Studio Turned into a Two-Bedroom Apartment
The apartment's feature is its irregular shape and small area. Despite that, the client wanted to arrange a full bedroom, living room and kitchen with dining group on 38 square meters. The authors of the project were able to meet all requirements: the living space was divided by a partition with a built-in television inside – thus, the living room and bedroom were created.

Steel, Wood and Brick in a Regular 'Panel'
The project's 'trick' is the old brick used to clad a wall in the living room. The client is fond of loft style, but in a 'panel' with 2.7-meter ceilings only some elements of this style could be used. Therefore, there is paint, including graphite, bright wallpapers in the corridor and a brick wall as an accent in the interior.
