Bedroom in Beige Tones
One of the main features of beige color is the diversity of its shades, more than a thousand of which are known. There is another advantage – harmonious combination with any interior style.
A bedroom in beige tones gives a feeling of maximum relaxation, this color being neutral by nature, sets the mood for full rest. One of the reasons for the popularity of this shade is its natural origin. This is the color of sea sand, leather, earth, which harmonizes well with the most common shades: white, gray, green or burgundy.
What to consider when creating a beige bedroom interior
In most cases, the described color is used as a base, helping to change the overall room decoration, making it darker or brighter. To make the space cozy, you need to use a play of shades, incorporate decorative inserts and elements (pillows, curtains). However, it is important to remember: do not combine beige with such bright shades as bright orange, emerald or burgundy red. If the room is small, it is not recommended to use pure gray color: it is better to apply its lighter shades – for example, silver. What else should you consider when decorating a bedroom in beige tones?
- To avoid monochromatic and boring atmosphere, diversify it with additional shades: hang lighter chandeliers and place darker furniture.
- Buy bedding with embroidery: patterns, designs. The latter are quite appropriate on the ceiling and wallpapers.
- Do not allow a situation where furniture, all surfaces and bedding have the same shade.
- Maintain proportions of accent bright colors: there should not be more than 50% of them. It is enough to highlight a carpet, some furniture items and wallpaper patterns.

Interior styles of bedrooms in beige tones
When choosing a particular style, it is necessary to consider the room size: some design solutions are unacceptable for overly small bedrooms. How do they decorate this space today?
- Classicism. A conservative style implying the use of natural finishing materials. In this case, the bed should be placed in the center of the room. Hang a picture (preferably a reproduction of any classic artist) above the headboard. Place bedside tables with table lamps on both sides of the bed, and somewhere nearby place a chair (or rocking chair) with a classic English throw.
- Modern. Color decoration should be diluted with bright shades: turquoise, blue or pink-red. Essential accessories include art objects: original bedspreads, futuristic paintings, unusual figurines and so on. The style is highlighted by unusual furniture items: for example, a round bed, blue carpet or glass chairs. It is important to remember about dominance of smooth, rounded lines.
- Victorian style. It is also sometimes called royal. Suitable for spacious rooms. The central place in the interior is taken by a bed – it should be huge, with a massive headboard. Above it – a canopy, next to it – carved bedside tables styled in an antique manner. The same should be the rest of the furniture. Decorative elements such as cornices, forged or bronze lighting fixtures are welcome. Pay special attention to the chandelier – it should be massive, made of crystal.
- Eclecticism. Characteristic for youth bedrooms. There is also a luxurious bed, but combining with simple and strict furniture. It is recommended to use bright inserts that will contrast the beige background.
- Countryside. This style is most appropriate for combining natural shades (green, yellow) with a beige base. Natural textiles such as lace with embroidery, checkered throws, and natural fabrics are welcome. The bed, more precisely its backrest, should be decorated with carving. The style gains a touch of originality with chests used instead of wardrobes.

Bedroom finishing in beige tones
When choosing finishing materials, prefer light tones. First of all, this applies to wallpapers: they should be almost white or contain patterns (stripes) in this color. It is not recommended to decorate walls in dark tones, but if such necessity arises, one of the surfaces can simply be made a tone darker. Wallpapers of different shades can be used if there is a need for zoning: for example, you want to separate the area of a small wardrobe from the sleeping area.
A good effect is achieved with ceiling coating with a pattern using plaster. It is important to remember that the surface texture should not match the wall covering. The best color for the ceiling is white, but ivory also works. As for the floor, it can be made darker: for example, chocolate-colored. In this case, the same tone should be in the curtains. Another point: if the floor is glossy, the furniture should be matte and vice versa.

Furniture for a beige bedroom
Most specialists recommend buying furniture in harmony with the walls. It is appropriate to recall that beige color, by nature, represents a mixture of white and brown. These very shades should be in the furniture. To diversify the atmosphere, choose different upholstery textures. Well-suited are a bed, wardrobe and side table with the same shade. The most popular furniture style is classic or minimalism.

Lighting and decor
It is quite possible to do with bedside lamps. Use soft light bulbs that promote complete relaxation. You can hang a chandelier, but as practice shows, its role is mostly decorative. If there is a workspace in the room, it is worth taking care of local lighting such as a desk lamp. Elements of decor include:
- living plants;
- a fish tank;
- paintings on the walls with landscapes in neutral tones;
- frescoes;
- photos;
- original-shaped wall lamps.

Vibrant accents in a beige bedroom
Making a bedroom more vibrant, attention-grabbing with accent elements – is purely individual choice. You can use inserts – stripes on the walls, furniture, textiles, floor. The color is orange, red or violet. But don't overdo it! Otherwise, the room will become overly colorful, which tires the eyes. Proper use of accents only adds positivity and evokes positive emotions.

Choosing curtains
Proper window treatment can successfully complete the created interior. Therefore, attention should be paid to choosing curtains carefully. It is enough to follow a few of the rules below:
- the fabric should be darker by at least one tone than the walls;
- if there is an ornament on the walls, then a similar pattern should also be on the curtains;
- a bedroom will significantly benefit from decoration if the drapes are of the same shade as the pillows;
- for a monochromatic room, choose curtains with two colors that do not repeat the wall shades.

Combining beige with other colors
Even small differences between shades become visible when decorating a room. Therefore, this “ability” of beige color can be used actively. The combinations with various colors have interesting features, which are described below.

Beige-Brown Bedroom
Its main feature is sophistication. Especially attractive is the harmony of “beige” with dark chocolate, which modern designers love so much. As a result, the room becomes cozy and at the same time noble. The secret of popularity of this combination is that people subconsciously associate this “union” of shades with nature, earth.

Gray-Beige Bedroom
Dark gray color is acceptable only in spacious rooms. In a small bedroom, it is better to switch to silver: this shade visually expands the space and adds sophistication to the room.

White-Beige Bedroom
This combination is well-suited for decorating a room in royal style. In this case, the walls are given a milk tone. At the same time, the pillows (if any) and the bed should be bright white. The role of decorative elements can be played by handles or frames of paintings. To complete the design, use coffee-colored accent details: they will complement the interior and fit well into the overall color palette.

Blue-Beige Bedroom
This combination perfectly highlights classical style if the blue tone is lighter compared to beige. If the latter is “weaker,” then the room will look more strictly and solidly. Such a combination is characteristic of modern styles where contrast is welcomed.

Coffee Bedroom
It is important to maintain a color combination here. If the walls have a coffee tone, then the furniture should be lighter so it doesn't get lost in the interior. The ceiling is better to make white or light gray, texture – matte. To make the floor harmonize with the overall decoration, the best option is caramel or light oak color. Choose silk or satin curtains with a cream tone.
In conclusion, one can make a generalization: for beige color, it is characteristic of universality and the ability to combine with various tones. The most important thing is to maintain balance and approach the decoration creatively, not fearing even the most unexpected experiments.
