Option 1: With a Large Bed

A large bed with a mattress (1800 cm x 2000 cm) is placed with the headboard against the long wall. The distance to the window is 70 cm, which provides convenient access to the bed from both sides.

Next to the bed are two bedside tables where you can place attractive lamps. Centered opposite the bed, on the wall facing it, is a console and multimedia equipment with a TV. On another wall is a wardrobe for storing clothes and a table with a comfortable chair.

Option 2: With a Wardrobe

If more storage space is needed for clothes, the desk will have to be sacrificed: its place will be taken by a wardrobe. In front of the bed, you can place a footstool for storing bedding, additional pillows, and throws.

We set up the workspace on the balcony, having previously insulated it, but removing the window frame with a door is not allowed, as this would count as a reconfiguration. It worked out to create a new office room, and for heating the balcony, an electric variant is used.

Relocating radiators to another part of the apartment is strictly prohibited.

Option 3: With Two Personal Zones

The bed is placed against another wall, opposite the bed is a spacious wardrobe with a built-in TV. This option is interesting because it maximizes room usage: the balcony has been turned into a personal office (as in the second option), and next to the entrance door, there's a makeup table with a mirror and a round chair for her.

To the left of the table on the wall is a shelf: paintings can be placed on it in any order and changed frequently, without requiring wall mounting, which protects the walls from drilling. In this version, personal zones are arranged as far apart as possible to avoid interfering with each other (let him sit snuggled up to a heater on the balcony, while she has the whole room at her disposal).

Option 4: With a Separate Workstation

This option is suitable if you need a dedicated workspace and don't currently have the opportunity or desire to insulate the balcony. For this, you can divide the room with a tall bookshelf behind which the workspace will be located.

It's important that the bookshelf has a back panel. This is needed not only for privacy at the workspace but also to preserve your vision.

If the TV is placed by the window, vision deteriorates because even reflected sunlight will be brighter than the TV screen itself. You can close the curtains tightly, but are you ready to live all the time under artificial lighting? Why not experiment with bedside tables of different shapes and styles?

Option 5: With Storage Systems

If you need a lot of storage space, every square centimeter of the room should be used. A bed with a mattress measuring 1600 cm x 2000 cm is integrated into wardrobes, increasing their storage capacity. The wardrobes run along two walls.

For the cabinet doors, use monochromatic options with hidden handles or a push-to-open system – this avoids the feeling of being inside a wardrobe.

Opposite the bed is a large console, which serves as both storage and a desk. On the insulated balcony, I created a kind of dressing room for the girl. The room includes: a makeup table, a chair, a floor mirror, and shelves for storage. A round footstool next to the floor mirror is perfect for storing bags. There’s also a larger round footstool in the room itself.
