Very Small 2-Room Apartment with Rooftop Terrace
The size of this 2-room apartment in Stockholm is only 36 square meters, yet it feels airy and spacious thanks to thoughtful layout planning, well-designed ergonomic spaces, and small decorative touches.
The living room area, for example, fits perfectly into the wall geometry. One of the walls behind the sofa was draped with sand-colored fabric, creating an illusion that there are other rooms behind the draping. It also adds warmth and tactile comfort. The sofa was complemented with a light and mobile side table.

The kitchen in a stylish Berlin blue tone is functional and spacious despite its compact dimensions. Storage space for main items was allocated in the bedroom, and a nearly invisible wardrobe was built at the junction of the kitchen, hallway, and living room so everything is within reach. The storage system was enhanced with numerous open shelves (to avoid cluttering the space) where paintings and decor were placed.

The strict gray-white space was softened with dusty pink, warm metal tones in gold, copper, and nickel finishes, and diluted with mid-century modern-style furniture with ash wood finish, also warm. Special attention was paid to lighting. The kitchen features general and local lighting highlighting the dining area, while in the bedroom two side lamps were symmetrically placed, perfectly suited for private space.

It's worth noting the bathroom as well. It is also small and planned just as successfully as the rest of the apartment. In the shower area, shielded by a transparent partition, instead of a typical shower tray – a minimalist step, and large tiles laid with a staggered pattern make the room feel more cohesive. The cabinet color is not accidental – it echoes the tone of the kitchen cabinets.

There is no balcony in the apartment, which is the only significant drawback for its residents to accept. However, the lack of a balcony is more than compensated by access to a well-equipped summer terrace on the roof.
This interior is another example of an unwavering rule: when every square centimeter of the apartment is thoughtfully planned, you can live comfortably in any size.
