Studio Apartment with Cozy Balcony: Apartment in Stockholm

This stylish studio apartment measuring 50 square meters with a large balcony is located in Goteborg. The spacious hallway allowed for centralized storage solutions, so there's no need to overthink where to place additional shelves or where to put a wardrobe.

Additionally, designer and interior stylist Anna Furbaken (we previously featured one of her decorated interiors) rarely uses wardrobes and dressers in her projects, preferring to opt for maximally unobtrusive built-in models. As always, she pays much attention to textured textiles and weightless lighting fixtures.

Decorating the living space of a studio apartment always involves thoughtful considerations about where to place the sleeping area and how to define the living room zone. In this project, Anna decided to position a comfortable sofa with rococo touches diagonally by the window, hang a group of paintings and photos on the wall beside the window, and place a table with a mixed-wood set of chairs next to it – thus creating a cozy living room area. Behind the sofa, Anna positioned the sleeping area.

From the living room, you can step out onto a spacious balcony. Here Anna suggested placing a pallet bench and several planters with lush greenery, and hanging a string of light bulbs on the railing. Now this area resembles a mini-terrace, just like at a cottage or summer café.

The kitchen in this apartment is just as spacious as the hallway. The workspace is arranged in a 'P'-shaped layout, making everything easily reachable.

They abandoned clean white walls throughout the apartment in favor of light gray, leaving a bit of white on the ceiling. Light gray was used for internal doors and window frames that contrast with the white trim. This color scheme makes the background more interesting and prevents eye fatigue. However, it's not just that: contrast details such as sockets, window and door handles, and black-finished furniture hardware contribute to a graphic, vibrant, and stylized interior.
