What type of mount is better — adjustable or fixed? Where to hide cables? What wallpapers suit TV zones? We explain the main rules for placing a television

A wall-mounted TV is convenient from an ergonomic and design perspective. It saves space and will harmoniously fit into any interior style. Seven simple rules will help you decorate the TV area as comfortably and stylishly as possible.

1. Choose a Location

Everything depends on your creativity, but there are general recommendations. For the living room, an ideal option is placing the TV in a relaxation area. On the kitchen, the most successful solution is a visible TV in the dining or working zone. It should be kept away from the stove and sink.

It's not advisable to mount the screen opposite a window — light reflections can interfere with viewing.

2. Calculate Viewing Height and Distance

Place the TV at eye level, approximately 1.5 meters from the floor. If the TV will be in a working zone on the kitchen and you'll watch it while standing, then hang the screen higher.

Times when a large-screen TV could be watched from 2.5 meters away have passed. Modern models are safe for the eyes, so a viewing distance of 1–1.5 meters is sufficient.

3. Prepare the Space

Modern TVs are easy to install. This is one of the advantages of Samsung's new The Frame model. The TV can be mounted directly onto a special bracket flush with the wall, without visible gaps.

Still, ensure that the wall can support the TV. Thin gypsum board cannot hold a model weighing more than 30 kg. The solution is to build an additional gypsum board shelf with a reinforced wall.

4. Decide Where to Hide Cables

Hanging cables ruin any interior design. Install 3–4 outlets behind the TV, about 10 cm from the edge of the screen. If not possible, hide cables in a cable duct. It can be disguised to match the wall design: paint it or cover it with wallpaper.

Some people buy special furniture for the TV with a well-thought-out cable management system. Some modern models don't require complex solutions: all ports and functions of the The Frame TV are in a separate block that connects via a thin, inconspicuous cable.

5. Plan All Possible Placement Options

Will the TV be placed in a niche or on a shelf? A TV in a niche is a popular design choice, but some nuances are important. The recess shouldn't be too narrow to ensure natural ventilation. In this regard, a shelf or standard wall mount is more convenient: the screen won't overheat.

6. Pay Attention to the TV Zone Design

A popular solution is highlighting the wall behind the screen with wooden wallpaper (veneer). Some designers recommend using photo wallpapers for the TV area. In this case, choose a neutral background to avoid distracting from the viewing.

Often, the space behind the TV is decorated like a brick wall. There are also more original ideas — for example, a screen mounted on a mirror surface. This visually expands the space.

7. Hide the TV Correctly

There are many options: you can hide the TV among frames with photos. You can also frame the TV itself, placing it in decorative frames made of molding. Some people hide the screen in a cabinet or behind a mirror surface: an ergonomic and inconspicuous solution.

The Frame screen can display your favorite family photos, paintings, or graphics. The pre-installed Art Store app features a collection of artworks from renowned global museums and galleries. With a paid subscription, you gain unlimited access to outstanding paintings and photographs — from classical to contemporary art.

To harmoniously decorate the artwork, you can choose the frame and color of the mat — from pure white to the color of ocean waves.

Alternatively, you can create the perfect framing for an image without a mat — just select the right frame. The Frame has three frame options: white, black, and oak finish.
