7 foolproof design tricks for a single man's apartment
Where does the fine line lie between crude brutality and a sense of style? Should a single man's interior be as straightforward and simple as we expect it to be? We asked ourselves these questions, reviewed many real designer projects for single men, and selected several 'tricks' in interior design that will please most men of the strong sex with a probability of about one hundred percent.
1. Open-plan layout
The natural tendency to expand one's sphere of influence, inherent in men, explains male psychology. The principle is simple: visual dominance over all one's 'possessions' subtly captivates members of the strong sex, so studio layout or even a combined kitchen-living room is an unambiguous 'like' for most men.
From a purely practical point of view, studio layout often provides more opportunities for functional arrangement and ease of cleaning, which is also not unimportant.

Certainly, some men may prefer classical interiors, but often this is the result of age or social status influence. Most men in their depths love innovations – both technical and not so much. The reason is that subconsciously, a man's desire for progress lives on – hence, modern interiors with elements of hi-tech, asceticism, or minimalism are likely to appeal to a large part of the male population.

A man's home is not a home without a good technical innovation. Especially since the latest developments are moving forward at lightning speed. For example, Samsung's flagship in technical innovations released a designer TV model called The Frame, which, apart from its functionality, also enhances the interior design.
Samsung The Frame TVThe Frame has a motion sensor: if no one is in the room for an extended period, it turns off the screen to save energy.
For many, a significant advantage is that this TV is very easy to install. Thanks to a special mounting structure, there is almost no gap between the wall and the device. At the same time, all ports and functional elements are placed in a separate block connected by a thin, inconspicuous cable.

A comfortable spot to 'sit and lie down' is a must-have in a man's apartment. To watch a good movie, 'hang out' with friends on the console, or finally invite a girlfriend – it's sacred. If he is a lone wolf, then a comfortable and wide convertible sofa will become his friend. If friends often come over, then a large modular sofa-bed that is easy and fast to unfold is the perfect choice. And finally, for full comfort – a footstool.

Leather is a texture that carries the character of unique superiority, and often simply excellent taste and style. This is a direct association with the interiors of expensive sports cars, which attract men so much. Leather furniture always looks expensive and stylish, while maintaining a minimalist and strict appearance. So at least one piece of the furnishings – a chair, sofa, footstool or headboard – should definitely be made from leather.

Most men don't welcome clutter, but they also won't spend much time cleaning. Therefore, a simple storage system is the best option for an independent man. For example, an invisible built-in wardrobe, pull-out drawers in a platform bed, or a rail with hangers instead of numerous shelves and a small sideboard.

In a man's apartment, you will always find items that reflect the personality of the owner: here you can find anything you wouldn't allow yourself in family life. Living space, in essence, is dedicated to the interests and hobbies of one person. Only here can you see a collection of photos, a mini-bar, table football, a projector and a wall-sized screen, a basketball ball, a car wheel or a bicycle on the wall. The design can be eclectic, not very functional, impractical, but maximally convenient for one person.
