Enough Drawings

In my opinion, a project requires a mandatory set of drawings:

• measure plan;
  
• furniture layout plan;
  
• lighting plan;
  
• flooring plan;
  
• finish plan;
  
• plumbing fixtures plan;
  
• tilework plan.
  

The designer must keep ergonomic principles and technical content in mind. For example, plan convenient placement of outlets and switches, consider all household appliances, and account for several lighting scenarios for different cases. The aesthetic appearance of these elements also shouldn't be forgotten, as they will be reviewed by builders.

One of the key elements of a quality design project is a cost estimate with selection of finishing materials and furniture. These should be practical, accessible, and match the budget you've communicated to the designer.

Many design studios do not provide a list of finishing materials, furniture, and lighting. Therefore, the client has to spend time searching for items similar to those shown in the visualization. In a good estimate, all finishing materials are calculated, even the number of light fixtures and outlets.

Visualizing the project allows the client to see all furniture, finishes, and more in a 3D image, giving them the opportunity to make adjustments.

Some studios offer clients to choose from already prepared visualizations that they like best. Then, they conduct measurements and adapt this design to the specific apartment. This way you can save time and money.

Decor Recommendations

As a bonus, the project may include recommendations for selecting decor. You will only need to hang curtains, lay a carpet, and arrange your favorite photos in frames.
