Just take a look at how stunning the white hexagonal tile with dark grout looks! The interior of this two-bedroom apartment in Gothenburg is dedicated to a love for rhombuses, contrasting geometry, and metal.

A bright two-room apartment with a total area of 54 square meters and well-thought-out storage solutions, balcony, and a great view of Gothenburg was designed by interior stylists from the Swedish real estate agency Erik Olson. Although the Scandinavian style was used as a basis for the interior, the finished living space can be confidently called vibrant and unorthodox.

Despite the many interesting decorative elements in this two-bedroom apartment, the most fascinating part here is definitely the kitchen design. The workspace area is designed as a niche. It is clad with white tiles inside and out, and the joints are finished with dark grout: this technique has been loved by Scandinavian designers for its expressiveness and graphic impact, and is suitable for all modern interiors.

The upper cabinets are installed on the adjacent wall, underneath there are convenient spotlights, so there's plenty of light here. Photo: Kitchen and dining room in Modern style, Scandinavian, Interior decor, Apartment – photo on our website

The other rooms are also well-lit. This allows for painless addition of dark geometric accents to the interior, for example, through contrast black-and-white wallpapers in the living room, the headboard of the bed covered with fabric featuring a bold zigzag pattern in the bedroom, and also pillows and towels – continuing the polygon theme from the kitchen.

Industrial-style lighting fixtures, furniture, generously draped textiles with a metallic sheen, a coffee table made from pallets on technical wheels in the living room, and an IKEA frame for important small items: the theme of metal is another expressive technique widely used in this interior. Combined with blue color, which is present here just as much as white, the interior became masculine yet very unusual.
