What makes Carrie Bradshaw and Big's closet so great?

Let's take a closer look at the closet of the most vibrant couple from 'Sex and the City' — and understand what makes it so special. First of all, location. Pay attention: the closet adjoins the bedroom and has access to the bathroom (which, agree, is incredibly convenient).

In addition, it is divided into 2 zones — male and female. The zoning is not only functional but also visual: the 'male' half is done in dark colors, while the 'female' half is in light tones.

The materials used in decoration are mainly natural (this reflects the growing interest in eco-motifs in interior design and guarantees a long service life for furniture and finishes).

The closet of Carrie Bradshaw and Big is, of course, custom-made — taking into account the specific configuration of the room and the volume of the couple's wardrobe.

Special attention deserves the contents of the room: here are sections for clothes of different heights, many pull-out drawers for closed storage, and hooks for numerous handbags, as well as a whole display case with built-in lighting for Carrie's impressive shoe collection.

The lighting in the closet from the series can be confidently called ideal: there is sufficient general lighting, internal lighting for wardrobes and the shoe display case.

Designers of 'Sex and the City' didn't forget about comfort. A footstool is placed in the center (where two people can easily and comfortably sit), and the floor is covered with a soft carpet.

What can you add to the closet? First of all, functional accessories: these can be organizers for bracelets and pins, stands for rings, boxes and chests for small items. It wouldn't hurt to take care of scents. Subtle natural fragrances will add refined charm to the closet and lightly perfume your clothes with a barely noticeable trail.

If the size of your closet allows, add a couple of decorative accessories. Dried flowers in vases, figurines, photos in frames. Why not? Such details will add coziness to the space.

Choosing Materials

In our opinion, a good choice for a closet is panels manufactured in-house by Mr.Doors. They are thicker than particle board panels usually used in furniture manufacturing but significantly stronger and lighter due to the use of a honeycomb core.

How to choose a decor?

Bold and deep colors with interesting wood grain look great in the men's closet. For the women's side, romantic light tones.

At our request, Mr.Doors designers presented a more modern and improved version of Carrie Bradshaw and Big's closet. Just like the room from the series, stylistically and architecturally the space is divided into two parts: female and male.

The female half is created based on the 'Italian Classic' collection in a pristine white decor, 'Antique White'. Handles are from the NOVO series. Back panels in open sections feature 'Light' backlighting. A bronze hook on the wall panel is specially designed for classic collections.

The male half is made based on the 'Italian Modern' collection in the 'Noble Walnut' decor. Drawer fronts are Futur with glass inserts 'Nuance', handles are identical and integrated into the frame – Futur.

Among the pleasant changes in the project is a more neat, compact, and stylish hardware.

Hanging rods for clothes in both halves feature built-in lighting (which looks much more elegant, stylish, and modern than built-in lights in wardrobe walls).

Additionally, designers decided to do away with doors for the shoe display case. This saves space (no need to plan extra centimeters for opening and closing). Thanks to the lack of doors, all shoes are visible, making it easy to quickly choose the right pair.
