Maia Quy Nhon Resort Welcomes Food Lovers
HO CHI MINH CITY (March 9, 2022) – Understanding that the path to any traveler's heart often requires a detour through the stomach, Fusion has opened Maia Quy Nhon Resort as a gastronomy-focused 94-villa resort in a relatively undiscovered destination on Vietnam's southern coast.
The First Culinary-Oriented Fusion Resort in Vietnam Now Fully Open
The newest property from Fusion launched with a soft opening at the end of 2020. Due to the pandemic, the resort recently celebrated its grand opening in December 2021 when it unveiled its final villas.
The newest Maia brand expands on Fusion's original wellness concept by adding another key element to the journey – food. Guests at Maia can choose dinner or lunch in addition to a complimentary breakfast; or enjoy spa therapy included in the room rate.
The resort also offers a wide selection of unique culinary experiences, including Once Upon a Table – a four-course chef’s menu in an intimate ad hoc restaurant; Barefoot Destination Dining with ocean views; private barbecue with a personal chef prepared in the guest villa; high tea service at the villa and Breakfast by Design, among other options that include the ability to receive a photo-ready breakfast on a floating tray.
"Gastronomy is often one of the most important parts of a vacation, as it can turn the unfamiliar into a cozy and family-like experience," said Mark Bittern, General Manager of Maia Quy Nhon Resort. "At Maia we aim to take guests beyond the familiar and introduce them to regional specialties while highlighting Vietnamese cuisine."
For guests who prefer a healthy lifestyle, they can opt for daily spa therapy instead of full board. Vēla Spa features ten therapeutic rooms inspired by nature and an oasis atmosphere. The spa follows the concept of "jungle in a bottle," where all treatments are based on local ingredients.
The resort is equipped with an extensive pool and a fitness center with the most modern international equipment.
The resort features two restaurants, Vị and ad hoc, as well as an open bar area by the pool. Convenient all-day dining venue Vị, meaning taste, can accommodate up to 146 guests. The restaurant focuses on local ingredients, especially seafood and tropical fruits from the region. Live cooking and views of Phuong Mai Bay attract attention. The interior is also inspired by the surrounding area, created primarily by local artisans.
ad hoc is a more intimate setting that can host up to 96 people inside and outside. The chef visits local markets daily to source ingredients for a menu that often changes. The restaurant offers a collective dinner experience reminiscent of a family feast.
The 94 villas range in size from one to three bedrooms, most with private pools and gardens. Accommodation options vary from 61 square meters for a semi-detached villa to a palace-like 264 square meters for a three-bedroom beachfront villa with pool. Interiors are rendered in earthy tones, accented by various oceanic hues. The connection to nature is maintained throughout the property using recycled materials such as dried wood, copper, and rattan.
The resort is located on the shore of Phuong Mai Bay in Quy Nhon city, which has preserved its local atmosphere and remains outside the typical tourist radar of Vietnam despite being just one hour by air from the country's commercial hub, Ho Chi Minh City.
Starting room categories begin at $185 per night, including full board or one spa therapy session per adult in the villa.
