Unlike PVC suspended ceilings, the width of the fabric material for a fabric ceiling is 5 meters, which allows installing a seamless suspended ceiling in rooms up to 4.9 meters wide.

Therefore, the seamless technology is more of a convention, as it's currently impossible to install a seamless ceiling in rooms wider than 5 meters.

As for PVC ceilings, the width of the film material is currently available in 3.50 m – 4.00 m. Thus, in rooms up to 4.0 meters wide, you can install a seamless PVC ceiling instead of a fabric one.

IMPORTANT! Suspended ceilings are often called "French ceilings" because this technology was first applied in France.

Fabric Suspended Ceilings: Main Characteristics

A fabric ceiling is a strong fabric made of polyester, uniformly impregnated with a special composition with additives (including polyurethane).

Thus, the ceiling has a knitted fabric structure, which is a fabric with a weave step of 1-2 mm.

Another type of fabric ceiling has a base made from thin reinforced composite fabric, coated on both sides with polymer compositions (this type of fabric ceiling is produced only by the company Cerutti). The advantage of such a ceiling is in the greater strength of the fabric material. At the same time, Cerutti ceilings have higher density and thus greater weight.

Heating gun is not needed for installing fabric suspended ceilings.

Fabric ceilings can be mounted either on plastic fasteners (plastic fasteners are used for mounting Clipso and Descor ceilings), or on L-shaped profiles (only German Descor ceilings are mounted on these profiles).

Fabric ceilings can have only a matte texture.

The color palette of seamless ceilings is quite diverse, but in the market you will only find bedding tone ceiling options.

Seamless fabric suspended ceilings are stronger. Another advantage of the material is that when the fabric is cut, it does not tear further along the direction of the cut, unlike a film suspended ceiling.

Fabric ceilings are a very versatile covering and can be used in any room, provided the temperature range is between -20°C and +50°C.

Seamless fabric ceilings are harder to clean than film ones. Therefore, it is not recommended to install fabric ceilings in heavily polluted environments.
