7 Cool Ideas for a Small Apartment, Inspired by a 36 m² Two-Room Flat
Creative solutions from a designer's project
Designer Anna Malyutina created a unique monochrome interior in a small two-room flat with an area of 36 square meters. To use the space as efficiently as possible and make it cozy, Anna proposed several interesting and stylish solutions. We are showcasing cool ideas from the project that definitely deserve your attention.
Backsplash Made of Glass BlocksThe standout feature of the kitchen is a backsplash made of glass blocks. It functions as a window, allowing light to enter the bedroom located behind this wall. This design element looks stylish and modern, and is also a practical solution for protecting the walls from moisture and stains.
Symmetrical Table CompositionAlong the wall with windows, the designer installed a symmetrical composition of work and dining tables. The work desk is on the left, and the dining table is on the right, opposite the kitchen. The tables are connected by a shelf-buffet that can serve as a comfortable spot for relaxing with a cup of coffee or a book.
Accent ElementsTo add character and warmth to the overall atmosphere of the apartment, Anna used accent elements such as a Moroccan carpet and African masks brought home from travels. These details not only decorate the interior but also fill it with stories and memories.
Bright Bedroom Without WindowsAlthough the bedroom has no windows, thanks to glass blocks that make up 50% of the walls, natural light from outside enters the room. This solution creates a sense of light and spaciousness, which is especially important in small spaces.
Walk-in Closet in the BedroomStorage in the bedroom is organized as a walk-in closet in a niche, hidden behind textile curtains. It allows effective use of space, maintains order, and eliminates the need to place a wardrobe.
Mirrored DoorThe entrance door facing the apartment is made entirely of mirrors. This is not only a stylish element but also a way to visually expand the space. Mirrors create an illusion of depth and light, making small apartments look more spacious.
Niche-Shelves in the BathroomTo optimize space in the bathroom, niche-shelves were created for storage. These constructions not only save space but also create a stylish look. They are convenient for storing any bathroom essentials and can be used to add decorative elements.

These solutions made the small apartment cozy, functional, and stylish! We hope they inspire you to make changes in your interior.
