Or how a bold color palette transformed the bathroom into an art piece

The owners of this apartment in Vidnoe inherited it from a Soviet-era building constructed in 1956. The two-room flat required a full renovation, but the owners decided to preserve its era's spirit by blending original elements with modern solutions.

As a result, the space features a blend of a Soviet cast-iron bathtub, updated utilities, and a striking color palette.

The owners did the renovation themselves and chose to make the bathroom not just functional, but a true art space. The walls were painted with rich terracotta paint, and the floor and parts of the walls were tiled with aged-effect tiles.

The shower area became the focal point: it was decorated using hexagonal tiles with ornamental patterns. The bathtub was left cast-iron and re-glazed, while a washing machine was built-in under a unified countertop with the sink.

Special attention was paid to storage solutions: a closed cabinet was installed above the toilet, painted in wall tone, and small open shelves were added as stylish accents. The atmosphere is completed by brass elements — the cabinet handles and a gold-rimmed mirror.

As a result, the bathroom became more than just a place for daily routines — it is now a striking feature of the apartment, proving that even a budget renovation can look stunning.
