Kitchen in a Block House: Minimal Cabinets and Retro Design Accents
Beautiful solutions you'll want to recreate
Designer Tatiana Atyukina created a kitchen for her client, who works in HR at a financial company, which perfectly combines comfort and functionality. The inspiration for the decoration came from the owner's favorite items, such as a collection of vintage furniture.

The kitchen was designed with the fact that the apartment owner does not cook often, so the main requirements were minimalistic. For example, upper cabinets and an extractor hood were not necessary. As a result, the interior became light and airy, and the absence of upper drawers visually expands the space.

The kitchen was made to order. The lower part of the cabinet unit accommodates a washing machine, a trash bin, cleaning supplies, and a dishwasher rack. This solution was important because the bathroom was small, and integrating all elements into the kitchen area allowed for maximum efficient use of space. Special kitchen columns were provided for household appliances, including built-in devices, which harmoniously fit into the overall interior.

Special attention was paid to finishing. Two levels of ceramic granite were chosen for the countertop. The lower one is smooth, which simplifies socket installation, while the upper one is textured, adding an interesting visual effect. The walls above the countertop are decorated with wallpapers featuring floral and bird motifs in pastel tones, which not only highlights the gentleness of the interior but also complements the overall atmosphere of comfort. The same motif is repeated in the bedroom, creating a harmonious connection between various zones of the apartment. The floor is laid with laminate in the "English fir" pattern, giving the space elegance and completion.

Many decorative elements on the kitchen belong to the owner herself. These include photographs, greeting cards, wooden vases, porcelain, and paintings created by the client's daughter. An important accent is a framed embroidery made by the owner’s friend, which adds additional individuality to the interior.

The kitchen in this block house is an example of how to create a stylish and functional space that perfectly suits a specific person. Every element of the interior was carefully planned according to the owner's needs, and vintage items found a harmonious place in a modern context, making the space truly unique and comfortable.
