Get inspired by designers' work and find useful ideas for yourself
A colored ceiling in an interior can serve multiple purposes: adjusting room proportions, diverting attention from flaws, zoning the space, and adding volume. Or simply being the main accent and design feature. In any case, it's bold, vibrant, and unique! We've collected 5 beautiful interiors with colored ceilings.
Wallpaper with cranes on the ceiling in the kitchen
This kitchen interior in an eclectic style is filled with bold, interesting, and even daring solutions. Instead of a curtain, there's a mirror with a brass frame; instead of curtains — a carpet; and on the ceiling — pink wallpaper with cranes. They look very effectively and create a special vacation vibe — the apartment is intended for renting to guests of the capital. An unusual bright ceiling, despite its surprising print, fits organically into the chosen concept.

A colored ceiling can also be used to adjust room height. If you choose a rich blue for a light room, it will look bright and impactful. In this bathroom, the designer decided to play a bit with shades and painted the upper part of the walls and ceiling with bright blue paint. It is associated with the water element: the reflection of water in the blue surfaces of the walls and ceiling looks unusual and magical.
Design: Anastasia VenetskayaPink on the ceiling in the bedroom
This Moscow studio has a lot of color, vibrant and interesting accents. In the bedroom, the designer decided not only on colored walls but also on a colored ceiling. By using dark walls, they added depth and elegance — the cozy atmosphere contributes to both psychological and physical relaxation. The colored pink on the ceiling visually makes it higher. Although contrasting shades differ noticeably, they harmonize well with each other.
Design: Milla GenchEffective color block in the living room
The main character in this living room is green. The layout in a country house was not the most favorable, but there was no need to redesign it. To neutralize architectural nuances, color blocks were used. Half of the room was painted entirely in green — thus balancing the elongated space and visually making it more square-shaped.
Design: Ekaterina RticshevaAgain, blue
They say that dark blue is the only shade that can rival black in terms of qualities. Perhaps that’s why designers often use it in their projects. For example, in this vibrant studio, there is a lot of blue color: it flows from the walls to the ceiling and seems to embrace the space. The blue starts in the hallway and continues down the walls in the dining area, then into the kitchen cabinet and further into the living room with small accents. The cool color refreshes the interior, makes it more voluminous, and as if fills the air with life.
