Fortunately, the process of applying this type of plaster is so simple that even a novice in home repairs can handle it. For applying the plaster, you can use different methods: you can buy a special machine (we will talk about it below), or you can use traditional methods – applying the texture by hand. This is much easier than it seems. For manual application of plaster, it's better to use a brush and a stick. Dip the brush into the mixture and then tap it against the stick so that splatters reach the surface. It is recommended to apply 2-3 layers until the base is fully covered.
- Apply the layers carefully to avoid overflows.
- Start applying the next layer without waiting for the previous one to dry. Otherwise, your desired texture will dry out and flake off.
- While the plaster is not fully dry, you can apply patterns within your imagination. However, if you want to paint the plaster afterward, wait for it to dry completely.
Note that the wall or ceiling surface must be well prepared before applying the textured layer, otherwise all defects will be clearly visible.
- Remove weak and damaged plaster from the surface, scrape off whitewash, and re-plaster if necessary.
- Then treat the entire surface: cracks, holes.
- Now you need to prime the surface with primer. Builders recommend applying Betokontakt or Ceresit CT 16 with sand on oil-based paint.

Fur Look plaster is for those who are tired of monotony. Today, to save time, nerves, and money, you can order pre-made decorative plaster mixes (for example, POLIREM СШт 341). However, if you prefer to go through the whole process to the end, you can use proven recipes.
- Mix water-emulsion paint with facade spackle in a 1:1 ratio. Then experiment depending on the desired result. This plaster should be applied with a foam roller with holes, preferably moving without detaching from the surface and vertically.
- Mix cement with sand until it reaches oil-like consistency (approximately 1:3). Optionally, you can add color pigment. This plaster can be applied using a brush and stick or with a mesh (the finer the mesh, the less pronounced the fur look texture will be).
Plaster Machine for Fur Look
A plaster machine for Fur Look will significantly simplify your life. This method of applying plaster can be considered the easiest and least labor-intensive. The mixture is expelled from the nozzle by a compressor. To avoid excessive splattering, keep the nozzle strictly perpendicular to the wall, and apply the next line over the previous one, partially overlapping it. Apply the mixture in small portions. To prevent cracks in freshly applied plaster, cover the edges with polyethylene sheeting during breaks.
However, if no plaster machine is available at hand and the mixture is already ready for use, you can resort to older methods mentioned earlier:
- Brush with stick
- Mesh
- Applying with a brush (the mixture splatters when you move it over the bristles)
