Take note if you're renovating a small-space apartment

The director of an investment design studio, Yanna Lukinskikh and Alsua Aizatulina, decorated a tiny 12 sq. m apartment located in a brick building of 1962 construction, formerly a printing house. In this compact space, they created a comfortable living, working, and relaxation area. They managed to fit a full kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and plenty of storage spaces. We've collected the most impressive ideas in this article.

Check out a detailed tour of the studio

Attic Space

Yes, we know this is not a super-innovative solution. But it's still an excellent way to increase storage space in a tiny apartment. Deep wardrobes were installed above the entrance area, and open shelves were arranged in the kitchen zone.

Multi-functional Wardrobe

What to do if there's not enough space on a mini-kitchen? You can move some household appliances into a wardrobe in the hallway. This is exactly what they did: they ordered a wardrobe with a section for outerwear and repurposed the second section for a microwave oven and a coffee maker with a kettle.

Miniature Furniture

The furniture was chosen not only for style but also for dimensions. The round table takes up less space, and the dining chairs with wooden frames look clean and compact.

Armchair Instead of a Sofa

In a small room, the issue of sleeping space is always acute. An armchair takes up less area than a sofa since it doesn’t require unfolding. The backrest is also much thinner than that of a standard sofa — another plus. Additionally, it has convenient storage boxes for bedding.

Windowsill Instead of a Nightstand

If you install outlets on the window sills, the windowsill can fully replace a nightstand. You can charge gadgets, keep books, and other items that should be within reach.

Compact Sink

A small bathroom always involves compromises. To fit everything you need, you can use a small-sized washbasin instead of a standard vanity unit.
