Bright Bedroom with Kitten in Classic and Pop Art Style
Tamara Voroncova and Olga Uglova from studio "Svoi Dizayn" decorated a bright and cheerful 18 sq. m bedroom in a country house for charismatic and modern clients. The husband is a TV presenter, the wife is an entrepreneur. The main task during this project was to complete it within a month. The clients went on vacation and planned to return to the finished renovation and fully decorated bedroom.

The main character of the concept — a cat on the wall — was chosen not by accident. "Before we start working, our clients always fill out a brief with some unusual questions. When asked which animal they associate themselves with, the clients unanimously answered that they are cats. Of course, we couldn't not use this interesting detail in the interior. The artist drew a kitten according to our design — he has bright yellow sunglasses in pop art style,"— the project authors tell.
Bedside table is divided into two parts: one part higher, another lower; one gray, the other with a plant pattern. Bed with a high orthopedic mattress.Customers liked various stylistic and color solutions. The husband preferred a classic interior with cornices and moldings in bright colors, while the wife liked modern and very restrained minimalism in a gray-white color palette. As a result, their wishes were combined into one interior.
For example, the cat peeks out from behind classic moldings. For the floor, they chose an elegant texture of oak, which transitions to the wall. Walls and floor in one direction are not accidental, as they create a sense of movement.

Bright and very soft yellow chair, a rough and tactile rug on the floor and a yellow lampshade placed to the right of the bed, were found at La Redoute."While working on the project, we met a very interesting furniture restorer and a professional carpenter. In collaboration with him, we developed this beautiful console — a toilet table. Timofey Pronkin, former member of the group Hi-Fi, worked with us during its creation. He made an extraordinary frame. We and Olga decorated it with microcement inside and outside. It is a budget-friendly but very original piece,"— Tamara Voroncova tells.
The toilet table is an art object made by hand, standing on two legs as if half of the table was cut off. The same play is observed on its facade.
The bedroom turned out to be conceptual and bright, but if the owners get tired of the color, it is easy to change the interior and remove all yellow accent elements.
The wardrobe was hidden behind a carved partition, which perfectly zones the space and does not overload it.
TV unit made at the factory according to the designers' sketch. A classic model in pop art interpretation. All handles are different. Three materials were used in the finish: wood, concrete, and yellow paint.
The color palette for the wardrobe room is unusual. "We decided to use three colors. The first and main one is MDF with a wood texture, setting a noble background for the whole room. The second is playful yellow. It is used for side open storage and sliding drawers. The third color is gray concrete, which harmonizes with the wall finish in the bedroom and seamlessly connects two spaces,"— the designers explain.
The wardrobe has hangers for hanging clothes — they are illuminated from above by integrated lighting.
Part of the decor was made by designers themselves: these are pots decorated with microcement, painted using acrylic paints and sponges, stencils. Also, a fern leaf panel was made from microcement.Photographer: Maria Irynarhova
