How to Create a Stylish Interior on a Small Budget: 6 Designer Tips
These design tips will help you create a unique and functional interior
Professionals from Vasiliya Maksimadzhi Studio created a bright and cozy atmosphere in a 31 sq. m studio. The interior perfectly combines functionality and stylish design, while the budget remained reasonable. We share interesting details and tricks used by designers.
Thoughtful Geometry and Compatible Materials
You don't need to buy an expensive kitchen to create a stylish interior. What matters more is that all elements fit together perfectly. In this project, the junction of the countertop and ceramic granite is done without a corner piece, the color of the cabinet doors exactly matches the ceramic granite, and all cabinet doors are precisely and neatly cut geometrically.

Gypsum Panels
Gypsum panels behind the sofa add a light and unique touch to the interior without overloading it. The same finish was used on the kitchen cabinet where the ventilation system is hidden. A small detail but one that makes the interior visually more upscale.

Limited Color Palette
The studio used a maximally neutral color combination to create a calm and relaxing interior. Blue and navy blue in furniture and decor elements (curtains, sofa, chairs, posters) make the space more interesting.

Colorful Interior on the Balcony
If the main room of the studio is calm, the balcony is designed to energize with positivity. Bright sun-yellow paint on the walls and ceiling in the area where the same vibrant sofa is located was used. Decorative moldings were also placed there. The combination of yellow paint and natural wood looks very cozy.

Doors with Glass Inserts
Double sliding doors, especially with glass inserts, always look more elegant and festive than standard doors. Doors with frosted glass between the hallway and living room let natural light into the hallway, making the entrance space brighter even when the main lights are off.

Circular Wall and Ceiling Painting
Another great trick that doesn’t cost a fortune is circular wall and ceiling painting in a vibrant accent color. The hallway visually divides into zones: “dirty” and “clean.” Besides the functional benefit of this division, it also provides visual harmony, making the space more visually pleasing.
