3.5 sq m Bathroom in a Khrushchyovka: Fit Everything and Even More

Nadya thought long and hard about what to put in a small bathroom — a bathtub or a shower. They chose the first option and didn't regret it: lying there with candles was extremely pleasant. The washing machine was moved to the hallway niche to save space.

The bathroom became the most vibrant one: two types of ceramic tiles were used on the walls — large white rectangular and square accent tiles. Some might think that using an accent tile was overkill, but in reality, the balance is maintained. The floor also features colorful tiles, and the blue furniture was custom-made.

A stone bathtub is more expensive but more elegant. A lot of attention was paid to storage: household chemicals and cosmetics were hidden in cabinets. The cabinet has many shelves, but holes in the walls are provided at all heights to adjust their positions. The bathroom screen was made by hand.

Liza decorated her apartment in St. Petersburg for rental purposes. Our heroine wanted to fill the bathroom with a distinctly St. Petersburg and tourist atmosphere. Then Liza remembered her trip to Portugal and love for azulejo tiles — the pattern creates one large tapestry.

Katya and Sergey built their dream house themselves near St. Petersburg. They created a great project with a very stylish bathroom. The room is small — 1.2 m by 2.8 m. But the owners managed to make it feel spacious.

The effect was achieved with a narrow countertop made by hand — it doesn’t obstruct passage, and such a design is hard to find in stores. The DIY project cost 14,912 rubles.
