Modern conceptual style, art deco, and neoclassicism

Sense of style is formed based on several parameters, for example, in what kind of environment a person is raised, what kind of image they are exposed to around them: ordinariness or refinement and sophistication; whether they have an innate sense of style or abilities and passion for art and unconventional thinking. The combination of all these factors plays an important role in forming our sense of beauty and personal style.

Based on this, it is fundamentally incorrect to say that something is fashionable for everyone. Someone finds one thing beautiful, while another finds something completely different. This does not mean that one of them is wrong, just that each person has their own vision and preferences. However, based on my experience, I can highlight three most popular styles that are most frequently ordered in our architectural studio lately. Let's begin.

Eco Style

I never tire of repeating: if you want a sought-after and timeless interior — use materials that nature has provided us: wood, stone, glass. Natural materials have been in high demand for a long time: apart from the fact that you can make very trendy and stylish interiors or combinations, it’s also eco-friendly and safe for health, which people value greatly today.

Colors created by nature, combined with greenery in planters, give a space a feeling of calm and relaxation. Materials most commonly used in eco-style: stone, wood, clay, bamboo. Fabric choices fall on linen and cotton, with no synthetic materials.

Neoclassicism

Lacustrine, intellectual, elegant. Moderately rich — with a small amount of moldings, proper ergonomics, modern colors, and quality materials.

This style incorporates the best of classic design as well as modern trends. The color palette of this style suggests calm tones with bright accents, but natural shades. Overall furniture design is light, without a feeling of heaviness, and the decor is restrained compared to classic styles. Antiques (selectively) look well in this style.

Scandinavian Style

A style that has won special sympathy among people. The main color of the interior is white, uniting all zones. It features natural materials and an abundance of pastel tones. On one hand, it’s simple and without luxury, but very cozy and warm. Spaces designed in Scandinavian style are very comfortable and stylish at the same time. Scandi-style is characterized by the absence of heavy interior items, cluttered curtains, and flashy colors. White, resonating with black, light or dark wood, wall sconces, floor lamps, geometric cushions and throws.

Modern Conceptual Style

Built on modern motifs using the latest materials. Modern paintings featuring contrasts, wooden floors, and interior-forming elements. These can be made of glass, metal, with delicate complex details.

This style is quite complex to implement due to its many minimalist and subtle elements that immediately catch the eye. From a realization perspective, it can be more expensive than any classical style because only modern technologies and materials are used. Despite the initially apparent ease of implementing some elements or compositions, achieving the intended result can be very difficult due to the well-thought-out interplay, intersection, and transition of materials from one to another. This requires high-level design expertise and the construction team.

Loft

This style is especially popular among young people, creative individuals, and office workers.

The main feature is unfinishedness, indicated by metal lighting fixtures, exposed pipes (ventilation), and brick walls. The key element of this style is the harmonious blend of these unfinished aspects, giving a flat a special charm through urban elements. Abstract art paintings, wood, brick, and metal combinations fit well into this style.

Art Deco Style

It makes extensive use of graphics, drawings, and various texture blends. This is a complex style because it requires combining many materials and colors. Wood, glass, stone — all in one piece, combined with art deco-style drawings.

This style came to us in the 20th century from France, then gained popularity in Western Europe and the U.S., and continues to preserve the image of affluent bourgeois life in its most extreme forms today.

This is a style of restrained luxury, refinement in every detail of the interior. It incorporates the best traditions of classicism blended with new trends and modern interior items. Preference is given to natural materials, expensive and high-quality items. The style is built on the ability to harmoniously and tastefully combine abstract solutions with classicism, work with clear symmetry in asymmetric forms, and blend seemingly incompatible things and styles.
