9 Simple Tips to Save Money on Bathroom Renovation
Pro Tips
Bathroom renovation rarely misses hitting your wallet. However, there are ways to reduce its costs, and at least nine of them exist.

Low-Profile Wall Tiling
Often property owners tile walls up to the ceiling, but this is not the most functional solution. The upper parts can be covered with moisture-resistant paint — this will save on decoration in general and allow updating the walls after a few years without the need for major renovation.
Before purchasing materials, it is advisable to calculate approximate costs in case of using tiles and tiles combined with paint.

To save money on bathroom renovation, it's better to remove some rows of old tiles and paint the walls. This must be done very carefully, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the part of the tiles intended to remain.
No Mosaic
Laying mosaic and small-format tiles is an expensive and time-consuming process. In addition, small tiles form more joints, which increases the cost of grouting.
In a worst-case scenario, you can reduce the mosaic area — lay it only in the niche with open shelves. Also, it's advisable to compare prices from different manufacturers.

A suspended ceiling is easy to install and has low cost. In addition, light fixtures and track lighting systems can be built into such a ceiling.
Painting Walls Behind Furniture
If you already know where and how furniture will be placed in the bathroom, it's better to paint the corresponding parts of the wall behind these items.
To calculate potential savings, you need to compute the total surface area behind furniture and multiply it by the price per square meter of tile.

In case of limited space, it is not recommended to clutter the area with unnecessary decor — it only takes up space. You should maintain a balance between aesthetics and practicality of interior items.
Choosing Quality Materials, Not Cheap Ones
You should look not only at the cost of materials but also at their quality. For example, budget tiles cannot be cut at 45 degrees because they will crack and appear uneven.

Tile covering of the bathtub involves purchasing and laying finishing materials, preparing a structure from GKL, as well as buying and installing an access panel.
All these expenses can be avoided if you choose a ready-made screen — today there is a wide selection of options available.
Standard-Sized Items
Saving on furniture and appliances does not mean making them custom. Everything can be purchased from stock during sales, whereas custom items cost more and require advance payment.
